Anyway...you can't clap to Spectro...and although it seems simple, being able to clap along to music is a big deal when it comes to interaction...

Again back to the theory that Spectro was designed to be an opposite of MSEP. Spectro was actually written as a waltz, so the choreography is even different based on the underlying music. You can't waltz (properly) to MSEP, but that's ok, as it's an entirely different show.

But back to the original point, crowds are very responsive to the show. And it's pretty funny so hear so many people say "Oh look, it's Elliot and Pete!" Now that's pretty awesome that people still know who those two are. It's not like they have a huge park appearance schedule. But they tell their kids about Pete's Dragon, and maybe watch the movie. So it's a full generational circle. My cousins have never seen MSEP, and I look forward to bringing them soon.

That's my point...I completely understand the idea that the parades are polar opposites to ensure that there was a new experience at hand, but just being able to clap to a parade is big for guest interaction. You say you can't waltz to MSEP, but you can't waltz on Main Street period, no matter what parade is playing because there isn't room to while a parade is going on.

So having a parade at a tempo that a person can just sit and clap to or stomp their foot goes pretty far in making a parade enjoyable.

while I do enjoy Spectro and usually make a point to see it at least once per visit, I was really excited about MSEP making its return. It took me back to so very good childhood memories, I just hope that I will get the chance to see it one more time!!!
