Return of Spectromagic!!

I saw Spectromagic on the 25th. It was raining, so the show was less spectacular than usual. Many of the special effects were not working, or at least not at the right time. Am I right that there were changes? It has been several years since I saw it, and I thought it was a little different.

My guess is the float drivers are very happy about that new bridge. By the way, the new bridge looks GREAT! :)

They ran Spectro in the rain? Doesn't sound very safe .
We thought they might cancel it, and they even warned us that they might, but we thought we'd just sit (yeah!) and wait for awhile. I felt bad for the dancers--they looked a little nervous, to say the least. The show was still great, but at the end all the smoke from the fireworks, fire, etc. just hung in the air around us like a dense fog and no one could see anything--it was actually kind of funny. I feel bad for anyone who was seeing it for the first time, though.

It returned on the 30th. They were still working on the bridge in late afternoon on the 29th when I was there.

It ran at 9 and then at 11 on the 30th. I saw it at 11. Halfway through it started raining heavily. They didn't break formation and make a run for it or anything. The performers are real pros.

The wood on the new Liberty Square bridge smelled new. I jumped up and down on it a couple of times and it seemed pretty solid. But even after a week of free dining I'm probably a little lighter than your average parade float.

Spectro wasn't running on the 25th (do you mean a different date?) Chernabog's wings don't open near the Liberty Square Bridge, if that's what wasn't working. That would be disappointing if not all of the effects were working.

I went on the return, and the only things wrong with it were that

1. The Spectromen looked completely bored

2. Neither Sebastian or Jiminy Cricket worked

Everything else was fine, especially Mickey, Ariel, King Triton,Cinderella, Peter Pan, and the Big Bad Wolf. They were really great! Chernabog worked on Main Street, smoke and all, although he was very close to the float in front of him. It didn't rain and Wishes went on also.

We arrived during Wishes, and had time for BTMRR and Splash Mt. - closed briefly for smoke problems - before watching the 2nd Spectro showing at 11. It rained like crazy during the 2nd Spectro.

Did you happen to hear a kid crying "It's so beautiful"?

Caught Spectro on the 30th at 9...it was wonderful!! I saw nothing wrong with it. I took great shots of every character and float. Everything looked great and it was PACKED!! My son and I left when it was over while my hubby and nephew stayed to go on rides. They just missed the rain when they caught a bus back home.

Are you sure you don't mean Fantasmic? :)

I love love love Spectro and see it several times during our stay (length permitting) but I gotta say I don't like the new Spectromen. I much prefer the creepy light up faces

We left DHS on the 25th to have dinner at WL. When we were leaving it started to pour...I mean buckets being thrown. We were supposed to go back to see Fantasmic but didn't want to be in the rain and didn't think they'd show it.

I saw the 9pm show on 8/31 and I wish they would go back to the old Spectromen faces. These new ones are cute but they are no where as fun looking.
