resturant question

When we go to Disney, I ALWAYS make Ressies for the resturants were going to eat at. However this Universal trip is soooooo different than Disney (Disney is much easier to plan, it's all together)
Do I have to make ressies at the Universal resturants? or can we just decide as the moment hits us?

Suggestions please!!! We are leaving August 10, so I'd don't have too much more time to plan.

Thank you in advance!

Seems like in December when we went to Universal we made a reservation to have breakfast with the Grinch. But most of the restaraunts at Universal aren't Universal owned so I dont know if they have a booking system for them.

If you're staying at a resort onsite contact the concierge and tell them your dining plans. They will take care of everything for you.

Places like Mama Della's, Emeril's/Tchoup Chop, etc...all accept reservations. Others in CityWalk or the parks like Margaritaville and Mythos do "call ahead" seating, which is basically reservations on a bit more casual scale. They always say it isn't like having a firm reservation but it always ends up working just like one for us.

We usually just walk when we decide to eat but there is a booth that you can stop at as you walk down City walk where you can stop and make reservations if you want to. I just think that it is easier to just stop and eat when we feel like it.

thank you all that helps so much!

Unfortunately we aren't staying on property...I wanted to, but We have free hotel nights across the street from Universal at the fairfield Inn.

NOW i can stop driving my self nuts..with trying to figure out what the family will want ahead of time.! :sohappy:

Last october we knew we'd be at Universal for one day of our Disney trip. We were able to make reservations directly at Bob Marley's about 3 weeks out.
