Restaurant help

I am planning our next trip and was discussing with my husband and 13 yr old son where they wanted to eat this time. Both of them said the same places we always have gone. I'd like to branch out and try new places but want to make sure it's somewhere everyone can find something they like (I also have a 6 yr old who eats anything but a very picky 5 and 2 yr old). Our usual sit down restaurants are Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Biergarten, Japan (can't think of the name), 50's Prime Time, Yak and Yeti, and Akershus, we tried this one last time and loved it because we still got to see all of the princesses (even Cinderella) and it's alot easier to get into than The Royal Table. We also always end up at the same counter service places too, I guess if it's not broke why fix it but there are so many other places that I'd like to do something different. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks

Nothing better than trying new places!

Le Cellier in Canada is very good, as is San Angel Inn in Mexico (although some may disagree...we love it!). California Grill is great, but kind of pricey.
For counter service at MK, try to Cosmic Rays. They have many different options and although it can be a bit crowded, it's a fun atmosphere and Sonny Eclipse himself is awesome!
Also, at MGM, try Hollywood and Vine. They have a very good, tasty selection and you can still get the Fantasmic package if you're interested in that.

Good luck!

I'm usually in that position myself, trying to sneak in a few new places each trip instead of going back to the same ones every time.

You might try 'Ohana (at Poly), 1900 Park Fare (at Grand Floridian), Cape May Cafe (buffet with seafood), Coral Reef & Garden Grill (Epcot).

Luckily my family doesn't mind trying new places, in fact we make it a point to try at least a couple of new places each time we go. Though the places you mentioned are really good, we love 50's Prime Time, Yak & Yeti, and Chef Mickey's. But after going a couple of times we've branched out.

I don't know if this would work with the little one's but you could bribe them to try Rose-n-Crown at Epcot, and make the reservation for about 8:15 to 8:30 to ask for a terrace table that way while your eating or just after your done you have prime seats to see Illuminations. We did that this year and the kids loved it.

Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Biergarten, Japan (can't think of the name), 50's Prime Time, Yak and Yeti, and Akershus,

Trying new restaurants in Disney is always fun :)

Some of my recommendations of places I've experienced & loved:
-Ohana (There is a character breakfast, but the food for dinner is just as good)
-Kona Cafe
-TRex (All the kids I saw there were having a blast)
-California Grille (getting a table during Wishes would be a magical experience!)
-Boma at AKL
-Sci Fi Diner: Kids I've gone to Disney with have loved this theming
-Cinderella's Royal Table: I know it's tough to get into, but there's nothing quite like eating in the castle. Plus, if you enjoyed the princess dining you would love it here too.

I highly reccomend Ohana's and 1900 Park Fare the atmosphere is great, and the characters are awesome ( Ohana's is a breakfast only character meal though) The food cannot be beat you will not regret trying some new places and your kids will love both of these, its nice because adults can deffinatly enjoy these spots just as much as the kids :slurp: Have fun!

I would definitely add Le Cellier to the list!! Lots of the tots!!
Also - Cape May for bfast is great. The character interaction is some of the best! Ohana would be fun! And Boma (chicken fingers are on the menu for the picky ones). :slurp::slurp:

My favorite CS are - Pizza Planet at DHS - El Pirate at MK and Caseys there too!

I personally am not a fan of the TS at DHS. But I know they are hugely popular.

I hope this helps!!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I looked into a few and I think we are going to try 1900 Park Fare and Ohana this trip. I would like to do Ohana for dinner though because we don't really do sit down breakfeasts, we like to be at the gates as soon as they open and it's tough enough now getting 4 kids ready and out the door, can't imagine trying to fit a big meal in. Ohana sounded like it's fun and good food, is there entertainment during your meal like my book said?
