Resort-Specific Refillable Mugs

So, after two long years, the Year of a Million Dreams will soon be over. Good, bad, or otherwise, there is the opportunity for some things to change as the YoaMD ends. One of these things is the design on the refillable mugs. Currently, all resorts use the same YoaMD refillable mug. Prior to the YoaMD, each resort had a mug reflecting the theme of that resort.

So, my question is, would you like to see the mugs revert back, or remain universal across the resorts? Please describe what you believe to be the benefits of what you'd prefer.

Let's see what the people want! (I think I know )

I want the resort specific mugs back!!

Perhaps we can start a petition or threaten not to buy a DVC membership unless they bring them back....Hmmm...I smell sarcasm.:lol:

Seriously, I really like the resort specific mugs for several reasons.
Sometimes when my wife is depressed or had a bad day at work I make chicken strips and french fries for dinner and serve her Coke in a Polynesian resort Mug and it always cheers her up.

Which reminds me...Only 57 days until our next Disney Polynesian vacation!!

considering that i was the 100 vote for resort specific mugs I'd say I am supported that resort specific mugs rock.

I agree with Scooter. On specifically rough mornings waking up for school/work I enjoy using my CBR mug. It makes me smile when I remember that trip.

i believe they only come in the tall/skinny shape. i stayed at CSR last december and they still had the pepper market mugs but i hear it's because CSR Concessions is run by an outside vendor.

I like my Pop Century Mug I got in 2005...I still use it when I go out there..But, My parents are going before me so I can see what happens when they use mine..

I collect park-specific and resort-specific souvenirs and would be more likely to buy a mug if it was unique to the park or resort that I was staying at.

Well, we're not getting resort specific mugs this year. The new celebration mugs are out...

I think it's a bit ridiculous to have resort-specific mugs, although in a way I can see why they do it. On the other hand, if someone has purchased a refillable mug for their stay and they happen to visit someone at another resorts.....just let them fill up there, too. If you see they'd bought a mug somewhere, there's no serious harm in letting them fill up at different places. The mugs should just be WDW-resort specific......meaning, as long as they're staying on-property, they can refill them in any resort.

I'm not that impressed with the new mugs. They scream "Disney Store" to me not Walt Disney World. But maybe the photos aren't doing them justice. Still, the resort specific mugs were nice. Every time we use ours I think back to those trips.

I would love to see them go back to the old way but I see that they won't be this year. I would love to see what the new ones look like if anyone could post a picture. I have some from Pop Century, All Star Movies, Port Orleans and Dixie Landings that I had purchased years ago and have saved and I always use them and they brighten up my day!

To answer someone who asked before, I think the All Star ones are specific to the resort they are in. My mug has a movie scene on it so that would obviously be from the movie resort.

:lol: heck as long as they changed them!! We have 9 from the Million Dreams promo, 6 from POFQ, 3 from Movies and some from Music.!!! It would make sense to be able to bring your old mugs and pay a re-fill price. They could just tag the handle with something. I'm running out of room :ROFLOL:

Who has a picture to post of the new mug design. Rather get annoyed here at the homogenized design than when at BoardWalk.
