I never stay at Disney Resorts because i live 30mins away, but i did one day wanna see what the view was from the top of the contemporary, so i took a monorail to it and when i got off, i was in amazement how it looked, aside from getting completely lost inside, i did manage to find my way up to the observation deck and fell in love with the view of not only magic kingdom, but Epcot/DHS/Ak and the view into the I-Drive area (where seaworld/universal are). Ive always liked it, but going into it and experiencing the view from the top of the world made me fall inlove with it.
