Resort decision

we are thinking of cancelling Disney Cruise and going to WDW instead so we have a little more money in budget than for our normal trip. we have done POR last 3 or 4 trips and want something different. we are party of 5 (kids 9, 7, 7) and dont mind one bathroom or small rooms. looking for best new exciting place to stay onsite. any recommendations????? most deluxes for first couple of weeks of june are within a few hundred dollars so not a deal breaker. looking for best experience since this will be a "splurge trip" for us. planning 6 days 5 nights.
we have checked prices at all deluxes and AoA. any little extras like great pool or Dole Whip machine at Poly (WHICH I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT, WOW) could be the deciding factor.
thanks

Well- the POLY is an awesome experience, but if you're "splurging", then I'd go Grand Floridian or Contemporary w/ a Theme Park View! ( Bay Lake Towers of course have larger rooms).
We really did enjoy the Contemporary - but for me it's only worth it with a MK view room. (I think every WDW fan needs to spend at least one trip in a MK view room at the Contemp.) Watching Wishes from the balcony is just so cool!

If you want to splurge than consider an Epcot Resort: Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Boardwalk Inn. The entire Crescent Lake area is a wonderful place to stay. It feels like you're in the middle of it all. You'll really enjoy having 2 theme parks within walking distance.

You also could save by staying in the Dolphin but some don't like not having DME or being at a non-Disney resort, even though it has pretty much all the same benefits (except for DME).

We just stayed at AOA and I will be honest, very cool theme and the suites were nice. It was nice to have an inside room (where the door isn't outside) and my friend and her kids were just here and loved the theme and the 3 pools. Also, if you are a fan of the PORS, they also have the make your pasta station at AOA.

My DH and I usually stay at Deluxes and also stayed there last week - at BC. We have stayed at WL, both BC and YC, and GF. We love the WL for cozy and rustic theme with a boat to MK which is a nice thing to have. Our fave is BC/YC b/c of the pool and the walking to Epcot (and boat to DHS) since we spend most nights at Epcot. You can also walk across to the Boardwalk. So there is a lot of things for the kids to do. The slide is also lots of fun! GF is our other fave and that is bc of the theme and the luxury but also, the mono to MK can't be beat.

We are a party of 5 as well! 3 boys 4, 7 and 9. We love the grand floridian and poly ! Needless to say the boys love the monorail. Mk is our favorite park so these resorts Are perfect for us. Hope whatever you guys decide that youhave a wonderful vacation.

I think the Poly rooms are a little bit bigger than most other deluxe rooms (I THINK, not 100% sure) and I think WL are the smallest. If you're really looking for theming, Id' go with Beach Club. I've never stayed there, but I have visited and it is really nice. Plus Stormalong Bay looks super awesome!! :)

Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Age 9, 7 & 7, Yacht and Beach hands down especially in June. The pool area can't be beat for those ages, perfect for a mid day break.

I vote AOA! We stayed there in September & the theming is AWESOME! Your kids would probably love it! We stayed in the standard rooms but, loved the cars section. They have activities at the pool & movies in the Lion King section in the evenings. The food court is good. Love the gelato!
