Maybe someone can help me on this. Whenever you call to make reservations for Disney character dining - what informaton do they usually need?

Just a credit card number to hold the reservation or do you have to pay in full when you call?

Do you pay when you show up for your reservation?

I am setting up a character dining for 6 people (2 families) and I wanted to know possibly what information will be needed.

Thanks!

Is it for Cinderella's Royal Table? (in the castle) If so you will have to give a credit card number and you will be charged in full then. Also the Princess Storybook dining (in Norway in Epcot) will also charge your card at the time of reservation (i think, not entirely sure on this). All other character meals do not require any type of deposit or payment in full. You pay when your meal is completed, like any other restaurant. (I'm assuming you're not on the dining plan) The CM taking the reservation will ask you for the number of people in your party, if you need any high chairs or not, where you are staying, your phone number, etc. Also you will be given a confirmation # at the end of the call... write it down!! (and take it with you to avoid any issues) Have fun and welcome to the boards!

The majority of them you pay at the meal. CRT takes a credit card when you call (and charges it then, I believe) and Norway just takes a card to hold your place. I don't know if any others do this, but most don't.

Thanks for the information.

I'm not sure which character dining we will do yet. My daughter (4yr old) can't decide between Cinderella's Royal Table or Princess Storybook.

When is your trip? Just wondering, because CRT can be booked 6 months in advance (and is almost always full unless booked ahead).

We will be there Dec. 28th through Jan. 4th. We spend New Year's Eve and first week of January at DisneyWorld every year. It's crowded but you get use to it after 4 years in a row.

I've been a little worried about the reservations being full. If both the CRT and PS are full, we will improvise and come up with something else.

Some character meals require a credit card for booking & some do not.
I believe CRT is one of the dinners that does require a credit card.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ does too.
Hoop Dee Doo Revue & Spirit of Aloha may also require a credit card.
Also, if you book BBB, they require a credit card.

Get the disney dinning plan! Its the best thing if u want to eat with chatacters!!!! My son loves chef mickeys!

I don't think the dining plan really affects your experience at all, especially with all you care to eat meals. It's just a matter of being paid for up front.
