Reservation delima

I have a little delima help me figure it out.
One of my friends lives in Florida and has recently decided that she and her husband would like to visit us on our vacation for a day. I gave her a copy of our days and what park we would most likely be at and where our dinner reservations are for the night. We have free dining this trip so I don't want to cancel any reservations due to the fact that I may not get another. She just happened to pick the night that we will be eating at LeCellier.:( I told her that I would try to change our reservations from a 2 to a 4. My questions to you are: What do you think the chances are that I will be able to change the reservation? Also what should I do if I can't change reservation? (my husband refuses to drop his LeCellier reservation and I don't blame him for that)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on calling later today to attempt to change reservation, so I will let you know how it goes.

I'd call and see if you can change it to 4, but definitelydon't cancel that reservation!
If they can't change it, I would just explain that to your friends, then maybe plan a late breakfast/lunch together and agree to meet back with them after dinner for Illuminations.

Great advice. That's exactly what I would do too.:)

Have a great trip!!

I agree with this too! I'm sure they would understand. It's not like you can just go there every day.

First of all, there are 2, not 1, and reservations at LeCellier are extremely hard to come by.

Sorry, missed the number of guests - my bad.
I know its a popular restaurant.

Just trying to show all options - ask the dining CM, to try to expand the table to 4, if not, see if they can get another separate ressie for 2. They may not have a table for 4 - but they may have 2 tables of 2.

You never know until you call.

We they didn't have anything as expected. I even tried O'Hana (that was the restaurant for Sunday) Nothing!!! I don't want to hurt her feelings because I don't want to change my reservations. Hopefully she will understand, but she usually doesn't. :( :(
I will be talking to her later that night so I will update you then.

Keep your reservation. Try to expand it to 4. If you cannot do that then still keep your reservation and be honest with your friends and the restraunt.

Go to the restaraunt earlier in the day that day and explain the situation. The maitre d' may be able to accomodate your situation when the reservation person on the phone cannot. I would guess if you are honest with the restaraunt (you may even want to go talk directly to them a couple of days in advance) that they will do their best to accomodate your situation.

Good luck I am sure you will at least have success when you are actually there!

Explain that this reservation was very hard to come by and you cannot cancel out as you have been waiting a long time for it (stretch the truth, just don't break it :lookaroun ). Tell her you tried to add them to the reservation, but the place is full. Suggest another day to visit. If they refuse then go with the earlier suggestion of spending the day with them, but separate for dinner and then meet back up for drinks and Illuminations.

If she is a true friend she will understand and not make you choose.

I tried almost every day to get into Le Cellier... no luck at all :( but since you are adding onto a reservation maybe they can work it in.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you but if you can't change it surely she will understand since it is something you have had planned.
Good Luck:wave:

Who would have thought that it would be impossible to change a reservation from 2 to 4 for every restaraunt we hade reserved all week. I hope my friend is understanding because we are going to eat.:)
I am going to take some suggestions mentioned above and just meet back up after dinner. I hope they like counter service food. I am sure it will be fine.

I would call and double check. The chances of you being assigned to a 2top only for all your dinners is really slim. You'd probably be at some table that's a 2-4t for something.

All else fails, first talk to the reservation line's guest services and see what they can do - they CAN call a restaurant, but who knows if they will - then goto the restaurant at some point on your trip and ask if anyone there can help.
