If they want to keep the Speedway, create a new layout with futuristic sets and electric autonomous drive vehicles (like Luigi in DCA)...they can do GPS driven attractions... in the new layout create side roads and speed zones your vehicle could jump into...it could be a really fun and futuristic ride...and maybe something that even us adults would enjoy with the kids....and I am sure it would be extremely popular...until autonomous drive vehicles become the norm...and we can have this discussion again in about 30 years... but 30 years is a good run!

Disney is working on a new Captain Nemo movie, so you never know :)

Interesting.

I really like the idea of Discoveryland. I just don't know how it'll work out at WDW. The entire land will need a revamp, and considering they just got done repainting the metallic rockwork, I dont see them doing it again anytime soon.

I rather like the metallic rocks- I just wish the entire area had a more cohesive look to match them.

I totally see @marni1971's point about two large structures right next to each other. Space Mountain needs to be solitary. But if they put Tron over where the Galaxy Palace Stage used to be it could work.

Plus it would achieve some of what the original plans for Space Mountain had: Exterior ride portions!
first I agree that Tron should not be next to SM.

However, we do have BTMRR right next to splash mountain, so having two huge attractions isn't that big a deal.

But having two indoor roller coasters probably is.

It's not the size of the ride but the indoor coaster next to the indoor coaster...

I'm over that. Really. It's that intrusive Tron ...curved ceiling thing that I'm cringing at. WDW having indoor coasters isn't actually bad thing with the weather there. But that curved roof will be seen from everywhere in the park. It'll give the Tangled Toilets a run for their money.

Ok, I get that some don't want 2 indoor coasters next to each other but they are such completely different styles...

In a latest podcast, Jim Hill said that the highly successful Shanghai Tron Coaster might be a possibility for the Tomorrowland Speedway. Tomorrowland would become kind of a gateway to other worlds such as Wreck-it-Ralph and Tron. Of course, if they could ever get Tron 3 off the ground, the coaster might become a reality. Would you give up the Tomorrowland Speedway for the Tron coaster?
yes

they are not that different... both futuristic, indoor in blackout interior with lighting effects... If they were to do a Tron coaster I would rather them do it at the Studios...or bring back Communicore at EPCOT and have that as part of the computer grid experience...

To me having Tron next to SM would be awesome, and it would help balance the park IMO, right now TomorrowLand is a disgrace in my book not a whole lot to do. We don't mind the Speedway as we might ride it once every 3-4 trips out to MK, but a Tron replacement would be so much better, I would rather have that then 2 small flat rides. I wouldn't mind seeing them shut down TomorrowLand for 2-3 years and do a proper rebuild of the area. Buzz badly needs an update to at least be on the same level as DL. Gut Stich and put in your WIR ride, do a complete track replacement for SM and update all the dark scenes in the People mover. Move Monsters to the Studios and add a new show/experience in the existing space, this would make TomrrowLand a HUGE draw. I seriously doubt it would happen but it would be worth it in the end.

I agree with moving PPF over to the UK at Epcot. Then gut the old one and put in a Tangled attraction dark ride since it's right by the Tangled toilets. Of course that IASM facade across the way needs to be updated too.

Anyway, back to topic I guess.

As the self proclaimed leader of the it's a small world Relocation party, I would not like to see Peter Pan's Flight anywhere but the Magic Kingdom. I would accept it in Adventureland, but think it should remain in Fantasyland. If nothing else, I'd like to see that main drag that has Small World and Peter Pan's Flight redone with better looking facades.

I'm hip with destroying the last of old fantasyland. I'm also a big proponent of getting rid of Philhar for a dark ride replacement. Leave the Carousel for us sick nostalgics. And I think the Carousel would still fit in somewhat.

I could also see it at DHS since it's becoming more known as the "thrill park" of WDW.

But where to put it?
