Replace Indiana Jones Stunt Show with .......

I don't know if I feel as strongly about it as you do, but it does make me roll my eyes. I also like how the show performers are supposed to be Harrison Ford's actual stand-in. They would have been in grade school at the time, but other than that it is perfectly believable :lookaroun

Exactly. It's that sort of thing that makes me just say "don't act like I'm stupid. Just give me a show without trying to pull one over on me, and I'll be happy!".

BTW, I just realized that I think this is where the Great Movie Ride falls short for me, too... Could it be that I like cheesy animatronics BETTER than I like cheesy humans? Hmmm... maybe so...

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Why is it Disney fans think every show should be replaced because they've seen them too many times?
I don't know if it's true, or just an urban legend, but I've heard that Walt overheard a mom telling her daughter that they didn't need to go on Jungle Cruise again, since they had been on it their previous trip. This inspired Walt to round up his imagineers (if that's what they were called back then) to find ways to constantly be plussing rides and attractions.
That attraction hasn't been touched in 20 years, aside from a small refurb in 2000.
I understand that WDW is a business, and that if they show keeps filling up the way it does, then there's nothing wrong with it from that point of view. However, DHS, and especially that show, are stale, and it's simply time for a change.
The danger of that, of course, is that a lot of recent jobs have been done on the cheap. If they replaced Indy with some halfway decent show, it would be a downgrade, since Indy really is fun. If they do it, they'd need to go all out.

I've heard that Jungle Cruise story too. It's always hard to tell which of these stories really happened. But the point is good. In an ideal world, the Indy show would have at least been "plussed" by now.

But this isn't an ideal world. And there are plenty of things at the parks that are more important than replacing a popular show. Even at DHS, there are more important things. If you're going to replace anything, replace Sounds Dangerous. Then there's the Backlot Tour and Animation Tour... tours of a studio that shut down years ago.

DHS needs so much work! Indy may be old, but he ain't broke.

(Same with the Muppets - there were a lot of replace the Muppets threads a few months back.)

I dont think it should be replaced, I really like Indiana Jones and all the movies are pretty good. I would just like to see it updated. They can even theme it towards the last movie that came out. They shouldnt get rid of it especially if this last movie was a rebirth of the franchise.

Indy IS repetitive. I saw it once, and that is enough for me. I have seen it more than once, but only because I had people who have never seen it along. I am up for anything new in that spot, something, anything that will get me to stay at DHS longer. Even Lights Motors Action is getting old to me, having seen it three times. Plus I get antsy sitting on those aluminum benches FOREVER waiting for the show to start. It is cool, but I think stuff like that needs to be updated every few years IMO.

Agree that they need to change it up a bit. Pirates would be fun, especially if they got a hunky Johnny Depp lookalike. My granddaughter would so love that show  (and me, too) Hey, I'm old, not dead.

LMA - gotta love those aluminum benches with no back support. Although I prefer sitting to standing in that concrete tank under the stands. I felt like I was going to pass out from the heat and the pushing, shoving crowds. They do need to do something different with that show, however.

Haven't we had enough Pirates, this would be over kill.

They could always do Stitch, some people feel there isn't enough of him around! ;)

Seriously, we haven't sat down and watched Indy in at least 7 years. We'd rather skip it, leave early and enjoy some time at the resort. We also skip LMA. But for those first timers I guess it does help fill the day at the Studios.

That's how I feel about the Monsters Inc. ride.

I will agree with you. Rather than replacing an existing attraction, DHS is in deperate need of MORE attractions. Newer attractions.
I think as Disney fanatics, we forget that not everyone has been to WDW and they don't all go every year, or multiple times a year, like we do. I guess we are somewhat Disney(ego) Centric. More attractions added to DHS is where the answer for an improved DHS is where its at.

I completely agree.

I also like the Indy stunt show, but if they would alter the show so it remains fresh, it would work quite nicely. A thrill ride is nice, but with other things to focus on, it probably is the least of things to work on.
Even though Pirates is now overrated, I would like to see that water park built where River Country is. Just hopefully not as overbearing as Stitch.
