EPCOT Remy's Ratatouille Adventure coming to Epcot

Agreed. I am shocked by the love for it. It honestly read to me like a cheap carnival ride with average theming.
I won’t say it’s not. I’m simply saying we had more “fun” on Crush.

Which is what makes the human race great(ish). People like different things. For us we don’t have to do it once per trip. Rat we could ride a few time’s per visit.
Rat absolutely has better re-rideability. Far more to look at and digest. Some aspects are quite remarkable. But some of the shortcomings had me a bit disappointed as a big fan of the film and perhaps too high of expectations.
Some people just don’t appreciate the brilliance of placing a spinner next to a wall.
Nothing there made any sense as a theme park. Just a random collection of movie inspired attraction areas. Rat area excluded.

It's kind of stunning to me how much they bunted on the Ice Palace, since that so clearly should have been the scenic showstopper of the ride.

It should have been a crystalline, iridescent, mirror-tastic laser-phonic showscene, and instead we got . . . this:

(And I actually think that's a rather nice photo of it)

It's not like an Ice Palace gives you nowhere to go scenically. Imagine if the arches had been pulsing, glowing Lucite, with the projections actually refracting through them. The place should be positively shimmering, alive with light effects and sparkling color.

Heck, even just some real looking ICE would have made a big difference:

I think it had to stay dark or it would have broken the projection of Elsa's face.

I've never ridden Rat but I've seen countless POV youtube videos of it. I think the biggest issue for me, is the trend of dark rides that have 0 animatronics (I don't count animatronics in the queue). It just makes the ride feel lifeless and cheap.
I thought the motion of the vehicles and integration with the set pieces and screens is one of the most redeeming qualities of the ride. On the other hand, I vividly recall seeing the refrigerator and immediately thinking, “this is the best Disney could do”? The kitchen room in general, other than under the range portion, just fell really flat for me. I think that’s where it jumped the shark for me. Ymmv

Edit. And yes, I was really expecting some AAs

Of all the quality attractions they have to choose from, this stuns me. Not complaining, though - it helps balance out the demand for everything else!

The missing minute is fair enough, but Tron packs more wow factor into its first 30 seconds than most rides deliver in their entirety. I'd easily take it over Rat and MK's Space Mountain, but there's a very fair chance Guardians delivers a more well-rounded experience.

Can't compare it to Hagrid's or VelociCoaster yet, but within 2 weeks that should change.

Agreed, Crush's Coaster is easily the best spinning coaster (and my favorite of Disney's Nemo rides).
I'm looking forward to Tron.
We rode Hagrids and Velocicoaster and those two are awesome.

That’s disappointing. Is it as good as slinky dog dash?
It's substantially better than Slinky.

Tron is great simply for the atmosphere. We can't know how much it adds to Tomorrowland until it opens, but you don't have to actually ride Tron to love Tron.

The vibe and aesthetics of Tron are substantially better than the actual ride. The first break-section shouldn't trim as much speed as it does and the actual ride should be substantially longer.

To me, Hagrids is the best-themed coaster in the world and Velocicoaster is the best thrilling coaster in the world.

The atmosphere in SHDL is good but all over Tomorrowland looks like its part of Tron. MKs Tron will have a different vibe and probably won't be as deluxe of a setup overall walking up to the canopy. Time will tell but not sure it will be better than SHDL from an atmosphere. I agree the the ride feels cool, especially walking through the queue, but it's mediocre after the initial launch, imo.

Tron is many levels below both those coaster.

Different strokes for different folks, but I think Tron is far more successful at its core purpose (fast launch, cool glowing aesthetic) than Ratatouille.

Tron's also perfect for MK, which has never had anything too thrilling (the park's not getting a VelociCoaster rival anytime soon).

In the battle of the clones, I know which one I'm most excited to experience again. Those who disagree have every right to pick Epcot as their morning park (or head to MK and ride Space Mountain).

you don’t think Tron would have worked perfectly and better fit in Future World?

I would have liked it there too!

But I think it works in Tomorrowland, and I'm excited for MK to have a zippy (yet relatively straightforward) coaster.

It also would have been a bit redundant with Test Track: both feature a similar aesthetic, take place inside virtual worlds, are at their most fun when they go 'zoom', and break their immersion during said segments (which happen to be the main reason people ride). So I'm okay with how it worked out.

Am even okay with Ratatouille. I wish it were better (just like many wish Tron were longer), but it certainly fits in WS and brings something different to the park.

Tron would have perfectly fit the architectural vernacular of Future World...And with Test Track, they would have been harmonious near each other... Nothing bad about that. The Tron aesthetic just plays better in the Future World setting... It also has the smaller gravity building which would have been nice. A ride about computer gaming is really a perfect fit for the Future World story... Guardians Of The Galaxy Was a better fit for DHS or Tomorrowland...except for the height of the Gravity Building....

I'd rather they keep the blue warehouse and destroy Mission Space. If they were going to destroy half of Communicore, it could have been the other side. But yes Tron would be cool in FW for sure
