I mean, it's obviously a flat but it looks fine here. Also, it's much closer that I realized. :/ Not bad but wish it were a facade instead. Or some weird hybrid that shifts from building to facade to flat. Doesn't look washed out in this pic. Nice.

Thank you.
Very glad to see that the blue "windoor" building's paint, got the antiqued treatment. I was hoping for that!

To be fair, the Haunted Mansion ride isn't really in that building... and the real one, if memory serves, is painted green... but it's also completely out of guest view in most normal circumstances.

This is yet another example of how EPCOT Center was a masterclass of theme park design. Rather than try to "hide" its show buildings, nearly every one of them was designed to be partially or even fully "on stage." The Land is an exception, but even there its landscaped berm ties nicely into its theme.

Arguably the worst of the Future World pavilions was/is Journey into Imagination, with its relatively exposed Magic Eye Theater. In World Showcase, the Mexico pavilion is essentially a painted box with a pyramid stuck on the promenade side, but the remaining WS pavilions are some of the best placemaking WDI has ever done.

It's a big reason why Ratatouille's painted flat and GotG's "go away blue" box stick out like sore thumbs, not that they needed any help doing so.

Out of curiosity, are there any updates about Rat opening? (PleaseSayBeforeSeptember14, PleaseSayBeforeSeptember14, PleaseSayBeforeSeptember14.)

Martin has mentioned it was a few months from opening when everything was shut down. The current position of the company, they may want it open asap to increase EPCOT demand, or push it off until demand increases, which ever is cheapest and brings in the $$$

Multiple insiders have speculated Octoberish. I haven't seen anything to indicate that mid-September is in play, but who knows.

That looks terrible, but there's also no way that's the finished paint job, so I'm not concerned.

I still think the architecture/styling of that building is off (even ignoring the random door they haven't even tried to hide, at least up to this point), but it'll at least look better without brand new bright blue paint.

I feel like it would behoove them to try to get this one completed as quickly as they can. Epcot needs something new now to bring guests into the park. Sounds like they are struggling to do that at the moment. Why not allocate all resources/labor to this project. Guardians and Tron weren't going to be completed this year anyway.
