Back from WDW today even though i left yesterday, here is some interesting points.

1. POFQ is in the process of being repainted at the moment, currently building 5 has tarpualin over it, some of the blocks look as thouhg they have been done up externally. For some reason there are lights on in the rooms constantly.

2. The construction of saratoga is coming on with most work being carried out on the three main buildings and the area that will be the car park. The treehouses and green villas also park of the resort have not been touched since the Institute closed.

3. There is also a large amount of scaffolding up around park of the yacht club, the part nearest EPCOT.

4. While on the 7 day eastern cruise, and at the castaway club guest thing with the captain, he commented on the rumours about new ships and routes. He didnt confirm anything, but did say they are looking into "fleet expansion wiht more ships" and he asked those there about a possible European and a possible Alaskan cruise. Both went down well, however a European cruise would be an easy target for terrorists some thought and the insurance costs would rocket, so an alaskan cruise seems a more feasible option.

5. Over the last few weeks and the next few weeks all of the resorts are over 80% full with Riverside, the All Stars and Carribean Beach being full pretty much every night. At EPCOT and MK the lines fro the Riverside bus have been the longest by miles, with one night at MK last sunday i think with Riverside getting 6 busses with in about 5 minutes. And they all went full and cleared the lines.

6. The Magic Kingdom bus stances changed between last sunday and monday. On sunday there was one for all the all stars and about 5 empty stances on thatSeven Seas side. On monday the all stars got back the usual three with many on that side moving to the stances in the middle, including Riverside.

7. A cast member at EPCOT was telling us that they were told there are plans for a further 10 NEW COUNTRIES though she nor we knew were the would put them. They were not told what countries were to be added, but if you look to the most successful countries from the Millenium Village in 2000, it is those that will most likely be the new countries. A side note is that Mickey head pin badges with the Brazillian flag and the Republic of Ireland flag are appearing in some shops.

8. Mission: SPACE previews are everyday at 4pm for a limited number of guests, just turn up.

So a CM at Epcot just told you that there would be 10 countries added to the WS and you believe that?

I won't make fun of you (like some on this board would), but you can't believe everything CMs tell you. They lie...

There is not enough room for 10 countries in WS, unless they were to be added in minature form back to the Millennium Village / World Showplace. Other than that, thanks for the update! :)

First, no the CM didnet just tell me, we were talking while she was doing guarding duties at the British Pub and she did share a lot of sstuff that is true that was told to her by the higher CMs. Yes i know that some / many CM's do talk a lot of rubbish when it comes to news on future plans and that. But it does depend on how well you know the CM which most the time isnt very well, but in this case we did and she along with the people working in the british pavillion along with some others were told by a senior CM.

Secondly, she and the other CMs there as well as us (as i said) couldnt think where they would go.

There is no room where the events showcase thing is.

wdwcrazy, i dunno if i am or if she got hers pulled first

I hope they represent Brazil better than thei did in the Millenium Celebration. We are much more than samba and rainforest...

Can you elaborate on that a little, as in... why?

Do the words Achillie Lauro or Leon Klingthoffer mean anything to you?

Why stop at 10? Maybe they will add 20 or 30. Maybe they can just stack them on top of each other. :hammer:

I have to say that, yes, your CM friend probably was getting her leg pulled by that "senior CM."

10 New WHOLE countries could not fit without current pavilions being significanly altered, although representation I am sure is possible! According to plans, there is STILL space where the current "Outpost" is - and there is also space between Germany and Italy...and don't forget World Showplace! :)

If I remember correctly, I loved the Sweden "pavillion" with the four different seasons. (That was sweden right?)

Anyway, I can't see them removing any of the current countries

(maybe france...they're like a spoiled teenager...they want to do their own thing and tell us what to do, but when they need something, theyre begging us for it...)

Yikes,

God Bless America

Well since you brought up terrorism..... I'm writing this from memory but its all information publically available...

Its an Italian cruise ship that in 1985 was hijacked by mid eastern extremists. Mr. Klinghoffer, an american, was shot in his wheelchair and tossed overboard. I cant remember if his body was recovered or not.

The ship was surrendered in egypt before a special forces raid was launched to rescue the hostages. A plane transporting the terrorists to algeria was intercepted by the navy and forced to land at Signoella AFB in Italy. Ended up a standoff between the people on the plane, US Special forces and italian forces. The italians ended up taking the terrorists into custody - it was an italian crusie ship after all - and through the wonders of justice in this world, they ended up getting let off the hook. Or something like that.

Anyhow, there is a history of curise ship hijackings in that part of the world....

Resorts are more along the average of 90%+ occupancy. All-Stars are close to 95-99%.

Hard to judge a line by the queue. I can guarantee you that the All-Stars had 2-3x the line, however, buses run frequently, and often double load to keep up with the line. Also, there are a lot of tourists who don't know how to use a queue line, and just end up lining up outside the queue, instead of going around and around. Makes it look longer than it is.

Not quite. The All-Stars always had the last three... Movies, Music, and then Sports as the last one. That has not changed. What did change was the closure of the middle loop, and opening of the North Loop. The reason for this is they are FINALLY repaving the loops.

North Loop:
Blank
AK Lodge
Old Key West
Blank (FQ)
Riverside

South Loop:
Blank
Caribbean Beach (formerly AKL)
Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk (formerly FQ)
Swan/Dolphin (formerly RS)
Coronado Springs (formerly CBR)
Movies
Music
Sports

The cruise industry is in a major slump right now (even worse than the rest of the travel industry according to some analysts) and nobody is making a profit. Expansion would make absolutely no sense, especially for a company that is currently cutting as much excess as possible to conserve cash. I seriously doubt there is any truth to this rumor.
