Regis and Kelly + Magic Kingdom Picture Update (Part One!)

I stood before (perhaps "met" is the term?) Kelly Ripa by the Animal Kingdom Lodge Uzima pool Saturday morning around 9:00. She talked with my mother for a minute... And I dropped my refillable mug in astonishment (my mother had dragged me out to meet her on the pretext that there was a large iguana near the pool - since being the shy person I am, I would not have gone had my mother told the truth).

I hadn't my camera with me at the moment, though... (nor any of my self-designed business cards (I'm a pianist/keyboardist)) So I could neither snap a photo of proof nor try to weasel my way onto "Live" as a musical guest. :)

Cool pics!

It's hard to tell which angle you took the pics, but why on earth would that huge screen be set up directly behind them??? :veryconfu

Seems it would be in every shot of them on TV and pretty distracting, creating the "infinity mirror" look.

Generally the screens are off to the side for those who do not have a clear view from the front. How was the WDW set-up? I missed it on TV.

Thanx for sharing!!!

There were two screens, each angled off the left and right of them. There was a clear shot of the castle right behind them. It just looks like the screen is right behind them because we sat way way way off to the left of the stage.

My friend STILL hasn't posted the rest of the pictures on photobucket. Sorry for the delay, everyone.

That's right. Straight down MSUSA was clear.

Thanx PONGO!

I thought that might have been the case!

I can't see the pictures, am getting a bandwith exceeded error. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a link we can go to view the pics?

Thanks!

There were 2 screens... both left there by AFV. Also, they usually have screens like that when crowds might have trouble seeing the show.

I truly enjoyed the R&K shows, but was very disappointed in how they managed the "crowd-in-waiting".

I guess I'm the only one who noticed but how come on the screen it showed them in front of the castle when they were in town square?

There was a boom camera hanging over the middle of Main Street projecting the castle onto the screen (to make it appear much closer than it was).

I don't know this hole bandwidth deal, but let me see if this works...

My friend posted more of the pictures. So here they come. Oh, and in reply to the person about crowds, the were actually very small. Almost EVERY ride was walk-on. We went on almost every ride (some multiple times) between 1:00PM and 9:00PM. Anyways, ON WITH THE PICTURES!

A Cacophony of Characters! It was crazy! This guy came around right before the characters came saying "Don't get up, Don't get up." We didn't know what he meant at first, then I saw a billion characters coming from the fire house. It was crazy.

Brer Rabbit was decided to sit in the crowd:

I hope that worked... More to come!

That's so cool! Back on 12/5/01, I was at the Studios as they were filming for Good Morning America. Kelly was guest starring, and I was randomly chosen to be up there with her!! I still have the hat she gave me that day. Man, Kelly has a small head...

Here's some more:

Pinocchio. One little boy in front of him asked, "Pinocchio, have you learned your lesson yet?" Very amusing.

Is that a swarm of locusts descending upon the Magic Kingdom?!
Img_0349.jpg

Upon closer inspection, we find that it is CONFETTI!
Img_0350.jpg

Confetti + Characters = Craziness!

Img_0356.jpg

Confetti + Regis and Kelly = "Why so much confetti on a commercial break?"
Img_0354.jpg

Confetti + Random Hands = Weird.

The clouds parted, and there was Mickey.

The mean camera lady again. After she yelled at us.

And some more...

Splash mountain was acting like a clotted blood vessel for part of the day. When we rode it the second time (at night) it wasn't as backed up as it is in this picture.

I like this hidden Mickey in Mickey's Garage in Toontown:

PhilharMagic glasses... On a garbage can in Toontown.
Img_0373.jpg

This is Pooh's 100 Acre "Wood." I couldn't for the life of me figure out where they put the "Wood."
Img_0374.jpg

Confetti from the Regis and Kelly show... on the floor of PhilharMagic.

People don't seem to realize that the stroller parking for "it's a small world" is the old Skyway station. All these strollers were parked outside of the ride.

I don't understand why a staircase would be closed. This one is by the exit of the Rafts from Tom Sawyer Island

The Seven Dwarves' Mine is now a candy stand?

And the DVC booth is still boarded up.

The next update may be coming tonight... It may not be. Only time will tell.
