They have completely re-recorded the audio for the holiday tag. It is still going to be peace on earth. It however has a female narrator replacing Walter Cronkite.

This is the kind of thing I firmly believe should wind up in the "Big Book of Why?"

Perhaps it was a matter of contractual obligations, where Disney only had access to the Cronkite narration for a set amount of years. That's the only explanation my feeble mind can conjure up.

I mean, if somebody walks into a meeting and says "hey, about that Christmas narration, we can do better" then you've found the guy you need to throw out the office window.

I sadly admit, I'll miss this terribly.
