News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

They really have given away one of the most important elements of the show during the daytime - it is as if they have learned nothing. Rivers Of Light gave away it’s show elements too early because they lost their 100 floating lanterns, and had to make due with dodgy pacing which led to it’s demise. I can’t imagine that Harm is gonna have that many tricks.

Are you saying the fountains for Harm. were going to be the main show element or surprise?

If it’s been asked then I apologize for the repetition. Why can’t the show pieces be shuttled out and in every day (ala Illuminations)? Would they need to buy more tugs?

The daytime fountain show (when it works) just seems like response to an “oh $hite” realization about what to do with these massive taco like structures. Honestly it just seems like more lazy imagineering.

Because:
"It's not that they couldn't have brought these crazy huge platforms out from the marina everyday. They really could have (even if the marina would be a little tight on space). The issue is that the projected amount of time to get these things in and out was way higher than anyone was willing to stomach. Supposedly it could have gone over an hour on a windy day, which was something that ops wasn't willing to put up with. That drawbridge would either stay up for an obscenely long amount of time, or go up and down enough to be like a game of frogger for guests."

Oh, I have no clue, I just imagine that they are a MAJOR show element, much like the lotus fountains or the floating lanterns were (supposed to be) for RoL. Obviously if the fireworks themselves are robust, nobody will complain, but I think that if the only surprise is the arms, then it will be akin to leaving the lotuses out all day and counting on the fire tower to be the finale surprise (which was, truly, one of the least impressive portions of RoL for me).

At least the lotuses wouldn’t look ugly being out all day.

I know what you mean though... i really hope this isn’t Rivers of Light take 2.

Those arms are so stupid, there better off just using it the earth barge for the centerpiece, that water screen is useless

Yep, I seem to recall other grumpy folks saying the same thing about the Pandora waterfalls and the waterfalls outside Be Our Guest. Last time I saw them everything was working as originally planned...
In fairness, that was based less on guest-generated negativity and more on Disney's actual track record with similar effects.

Looking at you, Expedition Everest Waterfalls . . .

I'll be surprised if this show makes it more than 1 or 2 years. The barges are huge and more than likely are going to be very expensive to maintain. I can easily see Disney pulling the plug on this after the 50th and returning to something cheaper.

I can hear it now, “Our Guest Relations staff received so many request that, Back by Popular Demand, Epcot Forever will be ringing in the 2022 year as our permanent show. We also heard you loud and clear. We have reworked the show to remove the kites and instead bring you more singing of children and more Disney Classic Movies songs representing the Nations around the World Showcase. Epcot Forever will be more timeless, more family, and more Disney.”
