Kind of an irrelevant question because there are 500 hotels and hoards of rentals beyond 32830
Unless you convert WDW to "Island Theory" where you make a resort stay a pre requisite for park admission. Make WDW a gated, all inclusive resort

Build resort capacity to 110% of total ride capacity. This will allow for 10% of rooms to have rolling maintenance.

Radical, yes. Destroy Orlando hospitality sector, you bet.

I think that’s the problem. Your information you are working on is not very up to date.

Sales last year were stellar, a ten year high. As I’ve pointed out to you before. CFW is where you need to direct your ire. That resort is a sales disaster. Though that’s Disneys problem, fortunately. They made the points charts too low. Which is good for membership (non owners) at least.
I’m sure I don’t have a problem…

I just looked at the sales data and it shows not that glowing of an outlook…

They sold almost nothing in December. Weird

But 41% was grand Floridian. And they’re fresh out of that. 24% at Disneyland. I’d expect that.

Riviera has a RIDICULOUS 7,000,000 points and we’re entering year 6 of sales with 75% declared?

Yeah…not as “stellar” as maybe a quick glance would yield.

The polyday inn will sell…no doubt.

Can someone start another thread because right now there several different conversations going on not really related to the “Reflections” project?

It’s turning into the attendance thread all over again and I would prefer that doesn’t spill over to other topics.

PLEASE DO NOT BUILD REFLECTIONS OR ANY RESORT IN THE FORT!! IT HAS BEEN A SPECIAL PLACE FOR US SINCE IT OPENED. LISTEN TO THE CAMPERS THE LODGE IS CLOSE ENOUGH! WHY NOT PUT WATERFRONT CAMPSITES THERE?
I don’t think you would like the price they would charge for that location. I would love if they brought back the Buffalo Junxtion concept - mid priced frontier theme - but that won’t make enough money either.

me too, would love to see the Wilderness Junction (or Buffalo Junction) realized. But everything they do now seems to be done to purposely not fit or belong.

Can you even imagine how popular that would be... new hotel with restaurants and entertainment as a hub with a train connecting Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness campground. It would be fantastic...and all in the same thematic vibe...who wouldn't want to stay there... with a train to carry you from one place to the other... Finally link up everything on that side of Bay lake... but yeah... they don't seem to have the same ideas about development anymore...

Yeah the problem is “tech mogul Bob” finds theming distasteful

This DVC mandate is definitely something I don’t agree with from TDO and I hope it ends soon.

They are going to hit a brick wall and realize they shouldn’t put all their eggs in one basket.
That’s the problem with Ponzi schemes. They’re difficult to stop without unraveling the entire thing.

Surprised they keep wanting to build new resorts when it’s hard to fill what they have now and the “value” of DVC isn’t what it used to be
This is pure supposition on my part, I have no inside information...
But as the continue to build new, I wonder if they don't eventually remove or replace the old? It can't be cheap to do major renovations on some of these older hotels, especially as they are still open to guests.

I am not a DVC member, so I have no real loyalty to any DVC resort, but that being said there's a reason pts are so low for some of those resorts. Maybe they redo or just remove?

I agree to some of this. In my opinion the whole purpose of the Cabins was to attract pet owners to buy in. We will see but right now it appears they over estimated the draw for a pet friendly DVC.
Very foolhardy. Like eschewing a tasty blue milk that’s on equal footing with Butterbeer by making sure they included vegans

I don’t see how they remove when members own points at those resorts. It would be a nightmare

The only resort buildings that could arguably need work to that extent are the two they don't have problems filling up - Poly and Contemporary. Elsewhere, the concrete construction of all the expansion resorts is easy to maintain and will last many more decades.

Some of the DS area hotels, though... 🤮
