Of course you realize... now that it was posted on open forum, others will be looking around for abandon mugs at poolsides... popping-off mug-bottoms and then running away!...

Love it, found a new way to pay for my next mug!

We get the mugs each year and find them to be a great value for our family. For $12 each we get our monies worth. It would be nice if they held a little more, cause once you put the ice in, you don't have the much room for the pop, but it is definetly a good deal.

No huge one at corondo. I like the refill station at the pool, we used it quite a bit. We used it to make mixed drinks.

Yes there was a huge one (64oz) at coronado i have seen it on a few occasions but they must have stopped selling it.

I noticed the post with the list of the mugs and where you can purchase them. Do they not offer them in your room anymore? Last trip (2003) I seem to remember seeing them on the table in our room upon check-in at the YC. If the maid found them missing, they would add it onto your bill at checkout. And YES, they were NEW mugs, not used ones left by the previous guests!!

Not that I can't drag my butt down to Beaches :D, just wondering if they changed this...?

I feel like 64 oz. may have been a little too much for Disney...I know I wouldn't buy a trough like that...just for fear of having to actually carry around that much (and subsequently consume 700 calories of Sprite). Something between 20 and 24 oz would be ideal.

I agree 64 is a little big for one person but enough to bring back to the room so you don't have to go to the food court several times.

when allearsnet.com says pops cup are various colors does that mean a cup that has all different colors on it or several different colored cups? i think it would be excellant to be able to buy different colors to we can keep up with whos is whos . there are 2 adults and 2 kids and we all like different drinks
anyway we are definitely buying 4 because of the math . for example we are staying 10 days so if we just get 2 drinks that is 4 bucks a day a piece. thats at 2 bucks a pop which is pushing it at dw. THats $40.00 for one person at 2 drinks a day????? I would much rather pay the $12 and believe me we will get aleast 2 drinks a day a piece so that is $160.00 minumum in drinks .12 x4=$48.00.... we will be saving over $100.00 just on drinks?????????Someone tell me if im nuts or is this correct?:brick: we would be stupid of not buy them ....sorry for the rambling , i am having one of those moments:lol:

Your math is probably correct. But keep in mind that these are drinks at your resort. Do you buy at least 2 drinks per day per person at your resort. At any rate I think within a 10 day stay that you will make out if you buy the mugs. We are Diet cola nuts and have at least 2 drinks per day at our resort ( I know not good for us!), even if its just one for the road in the morning before going to a park and one when we get back. But you really make out if you spend a day at your resort or hanging by the pool. We can make up for the cost in just one "pool day".

Important safety tip. Don't fill your mug in the morning, put it in your backpack, forget that it is there, then go on Mission: Space. It isn't a pretty sight. If I have saved just one backpack today, I have done my duty.

The mugs are made by a company called Whirley. They actually supply cups to alot of Amusement /theme parks as well as sports venues.
I collect the Mugs from the resorts and have about 30 as well as the popcorn buckets who are also made by Whirley. I also have many other mugs/cups/glasses from WDW. Enough to actually fill a shelf that wraps around the cieling in my home office.

That's right!! A pool day is spent wiht me slurping lemonade all day long. That day alone makes up for the 13 bucks. It's great.

Would you mind taking a picture or two of your collection and posting it in here? I'd love to see it.

Don't forget the removable tops are also the same color as the handle.

You are right, I vaguely remember that myself. I used to go with my mom and we stayed at Caribbean Beach and when we would go to our room the mugs would be there on the table (in plastic?) and if you wanted them you would take them and it would get charged to your room. If not you left them there.

Oh good, I'm not losing my mind! If they DO only offer them at Beaches now, I guess it's a ploy to get me down there to eat more ice-cream? Like I need a reason?!

In addition to the people who said they put their money in the mugs with the pop off bottoms....your room key and jewerly can fit in there while at the pool as well. I always stuck my room key in the mug, much easier than having to worry about loosing that too.
