Thanks, but info is outdated.

Thanks Krankenstein, appreciate the quick reply; however, All Ears info is outdated (Anita is still talking about 2007's mugs!). Anyone have any new updates?
Thanks...

The only thing that is different between '07 and '08 is they removed the date. Every resort is still using The Year of a Million Dreams one. All of the other info is up to date on her site.

The official policy for the Resort Refillable mugs has not changed. It is as follows:

"Resort Refillable Mugs are sold in all Walt Disney World® Resort hotels, and can be used at the restaurant where it was purchased for the entire duration of the current visit. Each location offers soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, hot and iced tea."

They didn't remove the date, they just changed it to be current. My mug from 2007 has the year on it. I have a feeling they will stick with that design until YOMD ends (if it actually ever ends).

The wording of this certainly leaves no opening for interpretation anymore. :sohappy:

They did remove the date on the '08 mugs. The space below Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale is blank on the 2008 mugs.

Are you on the dining plan? If so, you may not want to buy mugs. We were there for 14 days on this last trip. We were there in 2007 and bought the mugs, they had the date on them. Same mugs this trip, no date though. (this was at Movies). We saw lots of people using everything BUT the resort mugs at some point or other. Last year we bought our mugs at Movies, but we did refill them once at Music when we walked over there to look at their gift shop for something specific.

I didn't save the photo, but I saw (on another board) a photo of the "rules" sign at the Pop Century food court. This new sign specifically DOES NOT mention that it can only be used at the same resort ... that clause is omitted on the sign.

I should add that this photo was posted next to a photo of the "old" sign, so it was easy to see the difference.

Keep in mind, the written, OFFICIAL policy is NOT the ACTUAL policy. The ACTUAL policy is that anyone who purchased a refillable mug at any Disney resort can use it at any resort. I think they don't enforce the written policy because it's too costly and cumbersome, and they don't really "lose" money by the people who are reusing mugs. The number of people reuing mugs is probably negligible.
