Refillable Mug Question

I have some refillable mugs that we purchased at Typhoon Lagoon and I remembered they said I can use it again another time. Does anyone know how much it costs to get the new bar code sticker? It was about $11 to buy in the first place. I also remember her saying it was good elsewhere.. Blizzard Beach and somewhere else? (as long as you buy that days bar code)

I've tried to find the info but can only find info on initial purchase.

These were a life-saver (and wallet saver!) at the water park! :)

You are all so wonderful, thanks for any help!

I know resort mugs are only good for that stay...I can't imagine that TL or BB mugs would be good during another stay. In fact, I'm pretty sure you should not be able to use mugs from a previous stay anywhere.

The one we have from BB has a bar code that lets them know its from a certain day. I had heard they "might" consider making them replaceable, but hadn't heard if they went thru with it.

Water Park Mug barcodes go by days now, for example if you buy your mug on a sunday it says "Sunday Refill" so you can just use it for that sunday that you are there. Resort Mugs as we all know (because of the 50 million resort mug posts on this board) are only meant to be used during the duration of your stay. They are not refillable at any other resorts or at any of the parks. Being a local though, I just go to Typhoon every sunday now and get my free refills because I have a "sunday" sticker on my mug :) I'm bad I know.

Resort Mugs DONT have Barcodes. You can use them again and again.

No you can't!

They are for the duration of that stay....you can't bring them back on the next trip whether it's in the same calendar year or not...period!

You can, but it's against the rules.

Personally, I bring a $4 case of walmart brand cola to save the $11 and trips down to the refill station.

I know I saw some people at the filling stations with multiple bar codes...... just wondering if it is worth it to bring them back down. I can't remember how much they said it was or even if they are still allowing it.

For the record, I am asking about Water Park Mugs....

Thanks everyone!

PS Sorry....didn't mean to start a Resort Mug debate!

You are correct....a much better choice of words.

As for those of you that knowingly break the rules.....

me and my family went to blizzard beach in 2001 and bought the refillable mugs so when we returned last year we asked the cast memeber if we could use them again and she said yes just as long as we got anothere sticker with a barcode on it and put it over the old sticker it cost us something like $10 or something like that it wasnt steep but we did have 2 mugs and we only had to pay for the one. it did save us a lot of money that day!

70 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:xmas:

I'm sorry but I have used the same 2 resort mugs for the past 4 years, and the design of the mug has never changed over those 4 years. I am not against using your mug over a peroid of many stays at the same resort you purchased it. my reasoning why-for some one who is staying 3 nights and pays 11.99 for the mug is not getting a fair deal compared to someone who is staying 10 nights and still pays 11.99 and gets over 3 times as much use as the person staying 3 nights. I am 100% against people trying to use there mugs everywhere at every resort and I've even seen people try to get a free refil in their resort mug in the parks, and thats not right, thats being cheap and greedy; thats where I agree with you.

Back to the original topic... When our family were at BB in August, the CM said that to use it again you would have to purchase a new bar code sticker for about $6. The CM also said that the mugs were good a TL as well.

Sorry, its still against the rules. Refillable mugs are good for the length of the stay only and are not meant to be used over multiple years. Doesn't matter how long or short your stay is. Rules are rules.

Do people break these rules? Sure they do. Is it right?

Plato would be confounded at the many variations of "Mug Ethics" WDW fans have.
Some have none. Some fit it to best suit themselves.
But, I'm fairly sure the one's that follow the letter-of-the-law are least guilty of anything deviant.

Here's the bottom line. The mugs are $12 - basically equal to the cost of buying 6 soft drinks, plus you get the mug. If you use the mug to get 6 or more drinks during your vacation then you've gotten your money's worth. So it's not like you're LOSING money to buy a second mug on your next trip. As long as you get more than 6 drinks with each mug you are still saving money. So why break the rules?

With that said, I think Disney should sell mugs that are good for 1 full year, and they can just change the design each year. I mean right now there's no way to tell who is breaking the rules and who isn't. I also think the refillable mugs should be good at any resort. We decided against getting one because we switched resorts halfway through our vacation and would have had to buy 2 different mugs.
