Refillable Mug Question

I have some refillable mugs that we purchased at Typhoon Lagoon and I remembered they said I can use it again another time. Does anyone know how much it costs to get the new bar code sticker? It was about $11 to buy in the first place. I also remember her saying it was good elsewhere.. Blizzard Beach and somewhere else? (as long as you buy that days bar code)

I've tried to find the info but can only find info on initial purchase.

These were a life-saver (and wallet saver!) at the water park! :)

You are all so wonderful, thanks for any help!

Im not sure if this has been mentioned before...
but what sorts of beverages are included that you get the freee refills?
Thanks

At the resorts, it's good for soft drinks, coffee and hot chocolate. (anything else?) during the length of your stay.

A different mug:

At the water parks, the mug was good for soft drinks during that day.

Hot and Iced tea at the resorts... iced tea at the soda bar, but you need to ask for the tea bags for the hot.

You can, but it's against the rules.

Personally, I bring a $4 case of walmart brand cola to save the $11 and trips down to the refill station.

Ooh....good idea....note to self, and since we are driving, even better....you can buy a bunch of cola for $33.

We brought a case of water with us as well.

One thing... we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn and bought the mugs. There is no place inside the hotel to fill up, you have to go outside to do that. We didn't care for that (it took too much time to do) and if we should stay there again we will forgo the pleasure of the refillable mug.

If you aren't going to get a decent amount of usage then it may not pay.

The only problem with mugs is what to do with them when you get home. I have a box full in the attic.

We tend to get two water park ones on each trip and just fill one with Coke and one with Sprite.

my two eldest and I dont drink hot drinks so we always get our moneys worth

I tend to get a case of MGD as well :animwink:

Craig and Lisa are correct....

I am a VERY frequent Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon-goer (I'm on maternity leave and swimming is the only thing I have craved the whole pregnancy!!!! I probably go to the waterparks 3 times per week easily) You can use the same mug, but the replacement sticker will cost you $6.

What irks me about the stickers, is the family of 7 I saw last Sunday who bought one mug, and then got 6 extra cups when they bought their lunch, and used the one mug to fill up the other 6 cups. I immediately went to the counter and turned them in, although I'm not sure if anything came of it. I love having the refillable mugs, and think the idea is great, I'm just hoping Disney can figure out how to stop all the stealing before the cost of the mug gets to be too high.

We use our mugs at home all year long. The ones from the WL fit in the cup holder in our cars so they are great for work or travelling. Since we get new ones each year we don't feel bad when they wear out and we toss them.

When things like happen, it will end up causing Disney to cancel the mugs for everyone. Hate when a few spoil it for everyone else. I hope they always have it..it's a great deal when at the WP, especially when it's hot.

Send them to me!!!

I've nearly worn out the ones I have.

But...wait...don't you live one of those places where they habitually mis-spell
honor
color
favor
etc??

I guess shipping would be prohibitive.....

At Pop Century they also have a coke and blue rasberry slurppies.

They were broken when I was there in 2003! I was so mad!

My feelings and opinions on the topic of mug and re-use is well known. I don't want the few spoiling a good thing for the many. My gut feeling - If Disney wanted to crack down, they would institute some kind of bar-code system, where the fountains are "locked" unless you scan a valid bar code. And it would be time-sensitive, also, so you can't just buy one mug, and refill other mugs by constantly scanning the "legit" one. Now, this would require quite the capital investment in R&D, testing, etc. So don't expect any sort of "crackdown" anytime soon.

Honestly, I don't think CM's even care about the mugs. But if those in management feel they aren't making as much $$$ as they think they should, then you'll see some changes. And that's something I don't want to see come to light.

Sorry to hear that they were broken when you went, my niece and nephew were drinking them all the time. I also tasted them and they were good.

As far as the mug being time-sensitive, that would be a real problem for me because I happen to drink alot of diet coke in one sitting. For instance with my breakfast, I will generally fill the mug at least 4 times during my meal. I guess overall they are not losing any significant monies on the mugs, so probably feel that it's not worth the investment. The scanning thing would be more costly and what if there are problems, then you need to have additional CM's at the fountain areas to handle them which would also costs more to operate. The CM's at the fountain areas now can barely keep up with the cleaning of the area with all the people that use it.
