I have an eleven day trip planned in March. First part at Saratoga Springs, then moving over to Riverside. Would I be able to purchase a mug at the Springs good for the entire eleven days?

You should get 2 sets...one when you checkin to Saratoga and another when you check in at Riverside..
It's not me that's going on vacation..:(...It's @onesandzeros ...LOL..But I thought that would be correct..Tell me tho..Is the refillable mug not the same logo where ever you stay at.?..I buy or get free new ones on each visit. But the Port Orleans resort used to have it on the mug..

Yes, you should be able to use it at both resorts as long as you purchase the length of stay refills.
From a July News feed here on WDWMagic:
"The new mugs will be able to be used at any resort hotel quick service fountain, regardless of where it was original purchased."

The problem is that they are checking into a new resort and everything is done by RFID chip..the mug only works for the lentgh of stay..odd as it sounds they will have to get the second set or hav ethe originals reprogrammed if thats possible

Thought I read that the new mugs were good at any resort, which is why I asked the question.
I’ll keep researching it and pass along any updates.

You only need to purchase 1 mug per person and you don't need to get another mug when going to the other resort. The same mug is good at every Disney owned hotel and good through the entire stay of your trip..

So if you buy the Mug at Saratoga it will still be good when you check out at Riverside..

I guess the question is "Does the transfer from one resort to another qualify as an 'end' of one stay and the beginning of another, thus invoking the 'Length of Stay' limitation on the mug to only the first resort stay"?

It shouldn't if you have reservations from another hotel it should still work. Just ask a CM for details..

Thanks, CMdr. I think the question remains. Does the end of one reservation, at SS, invoke the length of stay, regardless of a second reservation beginning immediately at a different resort? In fact, even at the same resort, does the end of one reservation, according to the RFID chip, terminate the 'length of stay' clock so no further refills are available, despite the immediate commencement of a second reservation at the very same resort?

You can always contact Disney in regards to your situation on this....That's all I know..

Length of stay may be a bit of a misleading term. It means anything greater than 3 days but no more than (I think) 14 days. We were down from September 18th to the 27th (10 days) and we bought the mugs for the length of stay, and they were good to Oct 2nd (which would be 14 days). The mugs don't actually tie to your reservation in any way (i.e. we didn't provide any information when we bought the mugs).

This. You hand the cashier the mug, they stick it on a little device and hit the length of stay button. That then adds 14 days to the mug. If you are staying for longer than 14 days, the CM should be able to assist you with the extra time as well.

Here’s the reply from WDW regarding a split resort stay:
"When you purchase the length of stay option for the Resort-refillable
drink mugs, you will be able to use the mug for 14 consecutive days
after activation, even if you switch Resorts in the middle of your stay.
You are also able to extend the mug beyond the 14-day option as long as
it is still within the current length of stay."
