oversightdistrict.org is the current site. Redirect code was likely added to the old site of rcid.org. In fact, the entirety of the site could still be there but since the redirect code is encountered first, it sends you to oversightdistrict.org. I just tried cftod.org. Apparently no one owns it right now. This explains three different IP addresses.

Not too organized, are they.

Their Rules and Procedures are also AWOL from the new site. The link takes you back to the home page and the Apr. 19 meeting package that contained them (as Resolution 638) isn't available. Somehow they screwed up the links such that the Apr. 19 link gives you the Apr. 26 package and the Apr. 26 link gives you the May 1 agenda (the May 1 meeting isn't actually listed). The rest of the packages seem to be at the correct links. Tech issue in setting up the new site? I'm slightly suspicious because the Rules also happen to be missing. OTOH I don't remember whether the old site had a link to the Rules, so it could be a new idea that just isn't done yet. They haven't even fixed the dates on all the press releases yet, so why they went live with the site now...?

Also no search option on the new site, which is just annoying.

The following is strictly my thoughts on the subject. Those on the board when initially appointed may have thought they were appointed to control Disney, not do any actual governing. I say this only due to the comments by the governor before the transition and who he appointed
Again strictly my opinion: Many appointed to the board may have had no clue what the actual day to day responsibilities of RC were, let alone the size and scope of said responsibilities for short- and long-term planning of the district
To this day I'm uncertain of their motives when they take any action at all

When they announced their discovery of the DA, Ron Peri complained that the board loses most the majority of its ability to do anything beyond maintain roads and basic infrastructure. They have no interest in the nitty gritty of running the district.

Before it gets deleted, FWIW, I agree 💯

And before they delete it, they can read that this site feels to me like a safe place for people to say otherwise unacceptable things as long as they are sufficiently coded; but calling those things out directly gets deleted.
That both "sides" feel like they are being censored while the other gets off scot-free means they must be doing something right when it comes to moderation.

Reason A the first 15 minutes of board meetings are best watched on mute with a stiff drink;)

So what are we going to be doing that is so terrible if it is explodes? Beating each other to death with words? Get offended if someone doesn't agree with what is happening in what was once a symbol of freedom? And want us to be quiet because some wanna be dictator has managed to destroy 250 years of following the constitution because as a single person disagrees with it and has convinced others that more power is there for the taking? It is not and will only be turned around by people that are against it but are not prevented from saying so. It seems at this point that one side is able to threaten, misinform and intimidate with no barriers and the opposing side can't find a forum to contradict and react to that behavior.
I think the answer to this is that there are different forums for different conversations. This is a Walt Disney World forum. While many Americans participate here, people from all around the world post here (this is an English site after all!). This is a fan site for discussing a place we all love. There are social media pages, forums, and website that are geared towards politics. The proprietors of this site aren't doing anything wrong tooling their website to fit its mission. In the same way there are social conventions at parties, funerals, church services, and workplaces, this website has conventions that we can follow. And if we don't follow them, then we might be asked to leave.

This is a WDW topic, it's just not covered by pixie dust. It is an atrocity that has developed and directed at a place that some of us loved for many years. It is a disruption of the organization that gave us that wonderful joy and now some outside source is attempting to completely undermine the place and shape it to their own unAmerican attitude that what they want should be reality no matter what the majority really thinks. (not what their spin machine says). From the very beginning this whole discussion has been based on a political travesty.

No amount of "there's a great big beautiful tomorrow" is going to heal on it's own. The thing that RCID did was a large part of what we called Disney Magic. This outside tumor has and is attempting to further alter something that they know nothing about. And it is frustrating and every day that goes by a little bit more of WDW has been forced to be a political arm and we are supposed to bury our heads in the sand and just let it happen because we cannot speak out about the actual cancer that has located itself in a place where one should not be at all.

The fact that this board is based in Great Britain creates a conundrum of why a place that this regime cannot touch would be so worried about this politically originated discussion. All any of us want is for things to be corrected and the healing to get started. Since it began and remains a political overstep, the pimple won't be removed by just covering it with talcum powder. Voices need to be heard in the effort to correct a wrong that in this case was not the decision of WDW itself.

Having worked in the Old Capitol, it wasn't all that lovely. Hard to heat & cool, dark, dank in some places and the "cafeteria" in the basement was a tad scary.
I'm sure it wasn't. Better kept as a museum rather than as the primary Capitol building. We're in agreement on the design of the new building though.

Time for her to head back to attending the next BOS meeting via zoom like she usually does?

Ironically, the Moms For Liberty website's page on state SexEd programs links to this chart showing that Florida's "Healthy Relationsips" curriculum doesn't teach about:
  • Communication skills
  • Consent
I hope this is addressed in the next M4L meeting the Zeiglers attend.

I hate to rain on the Moms for Liberty bashing parade, but if you review the ethics report, you'll find that Disney gave RCID board members 'improper cash gifts' as well as 'lavish spending' on district employees.

I look forward to the excuse-making.
