Are they hypocrites? After all, they are decrying alleged human rights abuses in Florida, while crediting genocidal government entities in China.

As I have stated countless times in this nearly 800 page thread, despite my support for DeSantis in general, and him being my pick for GOP nomination for POTUS in 2024, I think he was wrong and is wrong to use government power to chill speech. I really don't think this needs to be a disclaimer in each and every post I make that is in any way critical of Disney.
If that's all you have to contribute, then your posts are wildly off-topic. That's why you received the response that you didand then have to clarify like you just did. The business conduct of Disney in China has zilch to do with this lawsuit.

Watching progressives simp for a multinational media conglomerate is gross.

Disney was wronged by Florida and they're standing up for themselves. That's it. The whole "fills my heart with optimism" and 😍😍😍 stuff is weird.
Weird, to you. Today is reassuring to people concerned with the new doors opening if this State vs Business over speech precedent was set. It is not over by any means but today for the first time Disney has directly addressed it.

There's an irony to accusations of partisanship, that people are taking Disney's side just because they don't like DeSantis.

First off, he's been rebuked by both sides, so this isn't the partisan divide some people think it is.

Secondly, most of us who think DeSantis shouldn't be doing all of this are on his side if you think about it. He should be touting the fact that Florida has a good working relationship with the tourism industry which allows the state to avoid taxes and debt. The relationship with Disney should be touted as the ultimate win win.

If he took our advice, he'd be looking a lot better right now in theory. I don't like him at all but I'm still suggesting a course of action that should have been better for him and his ambitions.

Just saw this tweet, I can’t believe they just claimed that “Disney picked the fight”

Source: Scott Gustin

EDIT: Disney aside mind you he said they were going to raise taxes AFTER SEVERAL business owners told them to not do so.

I really cannot stand this guy. Also LOL after MULTIPLE businesses told him we cannot afford tax hikes….

“We need to raise your taxes, ok? We can’t just let Disney do what they want with their land and money we need to FIGHT”

You know what's funny?
Now that a more official clock has been started, can someone go over a a general timeline for how this will work its way through the Federal Court system? Discovery period, hearing schedules? What can we expect in the next 6 months, year, 2 years?
I hope it goes to the USSC so all the constitutional scholars here, including myself, can shut the heck up. :hilarious:
