Any news on the budget yet?New College is a state university. It gets state appropriations. However this would be the state paying the legal bill of a local government. That's going to require a specific appropriation.

Did you doubt they had better lawyers?Wow, this is all well laid-out! It's very damning accusations agains the state as well. Finally they are standing up.
Well when the board is looking for any possible way to interfere, these are the types of things that happen. Along with swimming pool water samples of course.
I believe the legal term is "Giving oneself enough rope to hang oneself with"Guessing Disney's now got enough evidence. I presume they held off as long as they did to allow the new board to make enough mistakes and over reach to help their case. Disney's seemingly done a pretty decent job of staying as quiet and reserved as possible so far.
Pages 39-42 describe in extent the public hearings that occurred.
Well this is where having Iger and his decades of association with Hollywood “fixer” attorneys helps…I'm impressed with how Disney has handled the PR aspect of this over the past couple of weeks and how they were able to put forward what's in the suit in layman's terms
…in technical terms…yesI believe the legal term is "Giving oneself enough rope to hang oneself with"
Didn't this all escalate when Chapek (eventually) spoke out against the bill? There was no intention to go after Reedy Creek before that, right?
So then isn't this the issue that they view voicing a differing opinion as "picking a fight"?
It's 77 pages long. How long until someone here speed reads it, analyzes all the points, and gives us the cliff notes summary? You can read the full complaint here -
Sorry no but a Lapu Lapu tomorrow on Lapu Lapu day would be appreciatedDid you doubt they had better lawyers?
Of the Orange County (not that one), Maryland, Manhattan ilk?
All Disney did after they organized their strategy…and they’ve had plenty of time…was wait and see if Ronnie would walk into the trap or think better of it and back off…
That’s all that happened here
Anyone want a churro on me?

They do not allege they, or any other property owner, received a mailing noticing these hearings.

Sure, you picking me up in the private jet?Anyone want a churro on me?
Didn't it further escalate when Disney stopped campaign contributions in FL?Didn't this all escalate when Chapek (eventually) spoke out against the bill? There was no intention to go after Reedy Creek before that, right?

They've never gotten to the point of actually doing any business.Serious question
How has anything the er um board proposed encouraged/promoted tourism in the district?
Disney didn’t have to, correct. The RCID did. Disney’s lawsuit recounts the public hearings. It does not allege they - nor any other property owner - received mailings containing notice from the RCID.They don't need to conduct mailings.
Hi Gary.DeSantis wins 2022 Florida governor’s race by largest margin in 40 years. I live in Florida and every one I know loves the Governor and the job he is doing.
Yeah. I was wondering the same thing, so I was curious to look through Disney's filing, and it was interesting that they actually went "nuclear" as you put it, claiming two 1A violations in addition to the contracts clause violations, and asking that they invalidate HB9B and restore RCID.I was interested to see whether they'd be content to leave the CFTOB in place and simply sue to have the land development agreement upheld, or if they'd go all the way and say that want RCID reinstated. They went nuclear.
