Does this mean he's also going to take a stand in China, where LBGTQ+ violations are much more severe?

The same country ( China ) where 75% of out meds come from? Some of these meds have saved some of my family members lives.
The U.S. has the technology and capability for meds to be produced domestically, however, the pharma industry prioritizes profits over actually caring about those that depend on pharmaceutical products. That percentage you presented could be dramatically reduced or totally eliminated. As for saving lives, simply put, China (the Chinese government) does not care.

Some YouTubers that are tracking this RCID vs Dianey vs Florida are suggesting that this investigation will accuse Disney of destroying documents and evidence of actual illeagle activities on Disney's part.

I dunno....but I get the feeling that Disney has whacked a GIANT hornets nest on this.....woah!

This is from the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.

This is what I was getting at yesterday. By ostensibly expanding their quasi-governmental power with the contract, Disney has played right into the state's argument. The validity of said argument is certainly debatable, but they are making the argument nonetheless, and Disney has given them additional ammunition to make it.

sure lets tell all western companies to leave china for the lgtb community. so they can be locked out of the chinese market, and see their stock price crash and burn. but their dignity saved.

With all these well compensated, high priced legal eagles being employed by all parties concerned will Disney be jacking up fees and prices even more plus pressure more layoffs? TWDC is claiming financial issues would this not exacerbate them?

YouTubers also claimed a certain Presidential candidate was running a child slavery farm in the basement of a pizzeria.

Well Disney easily outmaneuvered them without changing any laws... only executing business agreements in public meetings. The people eventually may start asking why this board needs to get involved in more than infrastructure.

What were they supposed to do? Just eat the s--- sandwich?

Why not? Western companies, yes including TWDC, can pack up and go anywhere they want globally to produce their products. Plenty of countries that will welcome them to everyone's mutual benefit.

I'm wondering if a lawsuit is coming...
I doubt it. Disney has exactly what it wanted. Still in control.
That's an interesting repose. Did he just call Ron anti-business and anti-Florida? But, in a super nice way without actually saying it directly.

Is perhaps the mouse feeling good about recent reporting on how it out maneuvered the attack. Perhaps deciding if they're content to sit on that win or deciding if they need to go for total victory. Decisions decisions.
I think this is more likely a playful poking of the bear than a decision to go all in. Remember that the biggest thing DeSantis got from this is positive publicity and now the tables are turned completely around. Disney doesn’t want the negative PR from a dragged out political lawsuit and they don’t want to risk alienating a portion of their customer base unnecessarily. Republicans but Mickey plushes, Dole Whip and DVC points.

Let me apologize for my post some 30 pages ago when I predicted that the Gov would not pursue, but just let it go. Man was I wrong. So now he is reduced to asking for an investigation. All of Disney and the old board's emails will be analyzed to see if they can find some illegal content to void the Covenants. What we are talking about is this is the fourth quarter of a football game, down 4 points with 4 seconds left on the 50 yard line--time to throw a Hail Mary pass.

When you ignore the facts, yes, you can make a convincing argument to support your POV like the GOP are here.

The deal predates the 'newly created board' -- something the Florida GOP will continue to evade to make their argument.

Oh.

You're doing this again.

Yeah, we know you were saying that yesterday because you got about a dozen posts saying the same thing over and over.

You're again focusing on the minutiae of what powers the RCID has to distract from the topic of a governmental takeover trampling 1A Rights.

How's the whataboutism working out for you? You get huge crowds yet going, "Oh, yeah, that system of a quasi-governmental entity has inherent problems!! The governor was right to act on it!!!"

If you want to discuss the issues of special districts, of which FL has many, start a new thread.

This is about the egregious attempt to squelch free speech by a state take-over of a special district all done out of political vengeance.

Doesn’t really matter. The district was legally created and operated without issue for decades. The only thing RCID was ever guilty of was making other governments look bad by showing the world what competent efficient government could be. One that actually acted in the best interest of those it served. The only reason it’s being challenged now is again because the state has decided to unconstitutionally attack them. Nothing else matters
