I had thought that since RCID doesn't actually control the parks, that Disney is free to do what thery want inside the parks boundarys. Where it might get dicey is if the want to expand a park to build something new that isn't already designated as being owned by Disney. Time will tell.

Isn't all of that undeveloped land designated as being owned by Disney?

No, the District approves all projects within its boundaries. It can also institute additional reviews and approvals.

I predict that the three attorneys will mostly be harmless. The former CEO of Radixx, if a decent administrator and able to separate his religious beliefs from his work, could be harmless.

It's the Sarasota School Board member that will be the biggest pain.
What makes you think the three attorneys don't have specific political agendas they want to implement and have been given the perfect tool to use? Likewise, the Radixx CEO was likely selected because of a desire to mix the religious beliefs not because they can be compartmentalized.

All of these people are responsible only to the governor and not to any electorate they govern over.

What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. Now it seems like this can really cause some issues for Disney in Florida. Was this a similar underestimating of DeSantis' ability to push through what he wants or is this still just a big show without any teeth? Just kind of confused how exactly this affects WDW.
Initially, there was an expectation that Disney would fight this, which has not happened.

The reason Roy Disney insisted…look it up…this in 1964 was to avoid this in the first place

Remember the “free market” everyone loves when they overpay for after hours? This kinda crap interferes with that market…detriment to business

I've worked with plenty of political attorneys. If they're even remotely competent, they'll be pointless. They're just focusing on a bullet point for their resume which could eventually lead them into becoming judges.

No, Disney is basically a landowner under regulation of this government. That government has regulator powers which bound Disney. Just like you as a homeowner still have a city or county and state passing regulations on you.

The difference before was Disney basically got to hand-pick the government and had more autonomy from outside influences. Now, the government is hand picked by the gov.

All we can do is wait and see. The board doesn’t have much wiggle room because the vast majority of what they approve doesn’t have a downside whatsoever thereby making it difficult to justify not approving something.

If the board does act in an unreasonably hostile manner, Disney will need to reevaluate their decision not to pursue a lawsuit.
