Where they are. They don't work for Disney. They work for the district.I can't wait to see where these RCID firefighters are in 12months.

Assuming this one was a decent administrator in the private sector, if they're able to separate their religion from their work, this might be the only decent one.A religious CEO consultant
Yes... ish.If a new governor gets elected, can said governor just replace this board with different members?
A business now has a politically appointed board to approve some their decisions and permitting.Does anyone know what implication all of this will actually have? Is any of this actually going to affect the building of attractions? Or is it basically just going to cost Disney more money now to file permits and stuff? I don’t really understand how any of this makes any bit of difference.
They’re on staggered four year terms, so eventually a sitting governor will be able to replace a board but it wouldn’t be until half way through their term of office. If a new governor gets elected, can said governor just replace this board with different members?
I think they were under the assumption that disney would fight it and invariably win because they have an excellent case. Disney seems to not want to feed into DeSantis trap and give him even more publicity. In doing so the new board can cause them alot of headaches. What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. Now it seems like this can really cause some issues for Disney in Florida. Was this a similar underestimating of DeSantis' ability to push through what he wants or is this still just a big show without any teeth? Just kind of confused how exactly this affects WDW.
Presumably they think they'll get a better contract with the new board than the current board.Where they are. They don't work for Disney. They work for the district.
If the people appointed to the board were qualified administrators, nothing would happen. What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. Well the only win DeSantis got was the board, his original intention was to disssolve all of Reedy Creek and end Disney's special tax status, which he did not. This keeps getting overlooked. He found out he couldn't do a lot of things without hurting residents of Orange and Osceola counties. There is so much hypocrisy with this whole thing from purveyors of 'freedom' it's pretty infuriating. What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. Those that did - myself included - still had the faintest belief that hate driven stunts for power and money will die out naturally…What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. …don’t worry about that. The average age in Sarasota county is 112…If the people appointed to the board were qualified administrators, nothing would happen.
I predict that the three attorneys will mostly be harmless. The former CEO of Radixx, if a decent administrator and able to separate his religious beliefs from his work, could be harmless.
It's the Sarasota School Board member that will be the biggest pain.
Okay, then that answers the question of where they'll be in 12 months.Obviously genius. The point is the very entity they work for stands to be completely reimagined by the very guy they are cheering for and handing a ceremonial axe too.
I honestly thought nothing would come of this. Granted, the two year transition period does leave it open for a potential next governor of Florida to undo the damage, or for the legislature to make changes to the law before it takes effect. What I don't understand is so many people including those on this board and other like @lentesta said last year that this was all for show and nothing could really come of legally it similar to Trump's announcement in 2015. Working for the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Fire Department.Okay, then that answers the question of where they'll be in 12 months.
I had thought that since RCID doesn't actually control the parks, that Disney is free to do what thery want inside the parks boundarys. Where it might get dicey is if the want to expand a park to build something new that isn't already designated as being owned by Disney. Time will tell.A business now has a politically appointed board to approve some their decisions and permitting.
Best case, it'll delay some things. But given the makeup of the members of the board, it'll delay a LOT of things.
This is the equivalent of them operating a Disney park in a theocratic country.
Best case, they waste money on renaming the district and making sure the Florida Fire Prevention Code complied with the Florida Fire Prevention Code (actual things they’re required to do by law).Does anyone know what implication all of this will actually have? Is any of this actually going to affect the building of attractions? Or is it basically just going to cost Disney more money now to file permits and stuff?
