At the time RCID came into existence what is now valued real estate was nothing but overgrown swamp. RCID served a purpose. Past tense.
Still all paid for by extra taxes paid by the landowners, largely Disney. Bonds were issued to upgrade roads around Universal Orlando Resort. Orange County is now building a major road for Universal, covering half the cost. Disney’s paying more. One example, the funding of infrastructure by RDIC bond issuance allowing for WDW to finance off the books.
How does it no longer serve a purpose? What is the harm caused by its continued functioning? At the time RCID came into existence what is now valued real estate was nothing but overgrown swamp. RCID served a purpose. Past tense.
You mean like universal has done by having the city or county fund infrastructure projects with taxpayer money. One example, the funding of infrastructure by RDIC bond issuance allowing for WDW to finance off the books.
Is it not still serving that purpose? What is the benefit of it no longer existing? Be specificAt the time RCID came into existence what is now valued real estate was nothing but overgrown swamp. RCID served a purpose. Past tense.
Liability for infrastructure improvements solely for WDW benefit would be on WDW not on the quasi government entity of RDI.Is it not still serving that purpose? What is the benefit of it no longer existing? Be specific
Your last sentence is a bit naïve. You're not even considering the economic implications for Orange County and other counties in the surrounding areas. What is the benefit of continued existence? Because it's been around a long time let's keep it going? There will be some adjustment, modification and realignment but the bottom line will be everything will continue to function just fine.
So you just ignored the two questions I asked and asked a third? What is the benefit of continued existence? Because it's been around a long time let's keep it going? There will be some adjustment, modification and realignment but the bottom line will be everything will continue to function just fine.
Right now the counties get paid for services they don’t have to provide. It’s essentially free money. That seems like a pretty good benefit in exchange for something the counties don’t tightly control, zoning. What is the benefit of continued existence? Because it's been around a long time let's keep it going? There will be some adjustment, modification and realignment but the bottom line will be everything will continue to function just fine.
There will be no economic collapse, there will be no epic business catastrophe, there will be realignment and some reorganization. All the infrastructure work, construction, business functions etc, etc, etc in the surrounding areas i.e. Orange County will continue unabated.Your last sentence is a bit naïve. You're not even considering the economic implications for Orange County and other counties in the surrounding areas.
That’s not how it works and the EPCOT Building Code is not less restrictive than the Florida Building Code enforced by the counties. After RCID is gone will we see Osceola building inspectors with their orange safety vests, clipboards and tape measures in the parks…
GUEST: “Hey no cutting in the queue”
INSPECTOR: “Excuse me, but I must measure something”
INSPECTOR: “Just what thought. All right everybody, please leave the area, we have a code violation!”
The District doesn’t just deal with physical infrastructure. Increasing the size of departments like building and fire would have a cost that has to be shared.Liability for infrastructure improvements solely for WDW benefit would be on WDW not on the quasi government entity of RDI.
DeSantis might have a word with you. You explained more speculation than he did when he was asked by reporters. There will be no economic collapse, there will be no epic business catastrophe, there will be realignment and some reorganization. All the infrastructure work, construction, business functions etc, etc, etc in the surrounding areas i.e. Orange County will continue unabated.
None of the parks are in Osceola county, and I have never heard of this happening in any non-Disney park. Let's keep our concerns at least vaguely believable. After RCID is gone will we see Osceola building inspectors with their orange safety vests, clipboards and tape measures in the parks…

Will the new inspectors adhere to the Disney look attire? After RCID is gone will we see Osceola building inspectors with their orange safety vests, clipboards and tape measures in the parks…

Long list of benefits for tourists? The visitors, travelers, tourists to the area derive what from RCID? The folks passing through could care less about RCID.So you just ignored the two questions I asked and asked a third?
For over 50 years the district has been and continues to be mutually beneficial. It’s continued existences ensures that the financial and operational burden of providing services to the resort remains with Disney and not with local governments and taxpayers. And then there’s the long list of benefits for tourists.
What will be reworked? What will be done? There will be no economic collapse, there will be no epic business catastrophe, there will be realignment and some reorganization. All the infrastructure work, construction, business functions etc, etc, etc in the surrounding areas i.e. Orange County will continue unabated.
Every single day tourists use District facilities and services. That they’re not walking through the muck of a swamp is the work of the District. Charging their phone. Being seen by paramedics. Sitting in buildings that adhered to a strict model code that predates the existence of the Florida Building Code by decades.Long list of benefits for tourists? The visitors, travelers, tourists to the area derive what from RCID? The folks passing through could care less about RCID.
Nah, no speculation. Fact. Businesses, government and the people of the area will not stop functioning and living because RCID is vanishing. Don't need a presser for that to be out.DeSantis might have a word with you. You explained more speculation than he did when he was asked by reporters.
