Re-Imagineered Crush's Coaster for DPS?

It will finish with $200 million. In an extremely crowded summer for families and with computer animation not being the hot new thing anymore, I think this is quite impressive for an animated film for adults.

BTW, that is $200 million in North America only. It should do at least that overseas!

First - Disney acquires rights to Winnie the Pooh. Disney purists are up in arms about Pooh in the parks. However, they have come to embrace the characters.

Next - Disney acquires rights to the Muppets. Disney purists are up in arms about Muppets in the parks, then up in arms about not enough Muppets in the parks.:hammer:

Now - Disney acquires rights to Pixar characters. Disney purists.... Do you see a trend here?

I think, in time, people will embrace the Pixar characters.

there you go,it breifly explains the rough concept of the ride design.

lokks interesting, think about what disney could do with that technology eh?

Interesting concept...sadly, I don't think we'll see something like that (as a coaster anyway) at Disney. A dark ride...

Thanks for sharing!

So when are we going to see an attraction based off Chicken Little or Meet the Robinsons?

do you not think?
i thought it could be a pretty strong posibility we could.

a robinsons ride would be cool.
maybe they could make it a simulator and have you chasing after the bad guy (sorry forgotten his name :hammer: )
in those cool flying machines they have in the movie.

i think id rather see crushes coaster though.

No you got it backwards...its a very good thing! :D !

Disney was heading in the wrong direction prior to the Pixar acquistion by Bob Iger.

I think it's a very bad thing. The way it seems is that PIXAR has all the power, mainly bc Iger doesn't do anything but kiss PIXAR employee's butts. From what I understand, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Lasseter is sort of controlling everything, along with Ed Catmull. Lasseter wants Meet the Robinsons changed a tad, it's changed. Lasseter wants 2D animation back, it's back. Lasseter wants Disney Toon Studios closed, it's closed. See what I'm saying. I think if Iger's not careful, he may have a sort of corperate "Civil War" on his hands, the two sides being Disney Loyalists Vs. PIXAR Loyalists, and I think PIXAR will wind up winning. They've won everything else, and that includes price...

By the way, I love all of the PIXAR films. I was a tad dissapointed with Rattatoulie and felt it was a little too long and slow, but The animation was wonderful. As for what someone said about Disney Loyalists not wanting PIXAR in the parks at all, I don't believe it's true. I believe PIXAR should be incorperated in the parks, just not as much as they are. But, according to Jim Hill anyway, That's not going to happen, and it sounds as though all we'll be getting from now on are character attractions. Once again, that is from Jim Hill.

Just my 2 cents.

This shouldn't be a Disney vs. Pixar thing. Pixar IS NOW Disney. If Disney is willing to to invest money in their parks for new attractions, who cares if the rides are based on Disney or Pixar movies? Some of the BEST Disney attractions are based on ideas/stories that are NON-Disney (ToT, RnRC, M:S, PoTC, HM, etc.) Just be glad that Disney is putting money into the parks. I read that IoA hasn't added anything new to their park until the recent Harry Potter announcement (I honestly don't know how accurate that is). How much of an uproar would there be if Disney went YEARS before adding anything new to their parks??

a dueling spinning coaster would be insane. That's what they should've done with Primeval Whirl instead of going cheap...

Yeah but isn't the whole point of the Dinoland area is to look cheap anyway? It's supposed to look like a road-side tourist attraction and that's what they got.

I particularly like this idea from the renderings:

...You've gotta admit, a "jump-the-gap" effect would be awesome for any track ride.

I agree completly. I don't nessecarrily want it to be PIXAR vs. Disney, but from what I've read about corperate culture and big bussiness, that's not always the way it is. From what I understand, it was sort of the same way when Disney acquired ABC, sort of the Disney vs. CapCites/ABC kind of thing.
I'm not 100% sure though.

As for PIXAR in the parks, I do wish Disney would slow down attractions only based around PIXAR, but I don't think that will stop anytime soon. And I am happy that Disney isn't Universal, not that I don't love Uni, but Disney is in my opinion the best at what they do.

i am all 100% for crushes coaster to be put in DPS.

also rekindling an old flame but can anyone remember a while back the thing about a centilevered coaster or whatever it was called, and it being possibly used for a incredibles attraction,i think that could work too.

il try and find a pick of the centilevered wotsit if i cant.
The only Incredibles attraction I remember being discussed was changing the vehicles of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority into the pod-shaped vehicles from the movie.

I agree with Lee. In the past, WDI developed many good attractions for the Studios, yet few of them lived past the "Blue Sky" stage. What about the James Bond attraction? The D--- Tracy one? The Star Wars mini-land (planned, but no concept art)? Toon Studios? A Who Framed Roger Rabbit attraction?

Only one Pixar attraction truly needs to be made:

A dualing, hanging coaster based on the door ride sequence from Monsters, Inc. :D

That attraction could be awesome. But because it's based on animated characters, could they even make it a "coaster". Much less a Dueling Dragons level of intensity

For perhaps the first time since I've been reading this board, I totally and completely agree with Corrus.

Jobs bent WDC over. Period. Some of you may enjoy this, but I assure you there are many, many in Burbank who aren't real happy with how things have gone down.

Reality is what it is, but I'm not celebrating. And no, this is not an attack on Mr. Lasseter, whom I admire very much. That being said, Pixar control over Burbank combined with Jay Rasulo clinging to power is not a safe bet for good things to come.

You gor it all mixed up... Pixar has Disney by the balls... Burbankwise...
Too much Pixar in the management...

Which is a very disturbing and bad thing... :(

I'll believe you when Pixar insists on being "hip and edgy" to try and cater to some yet-undiscovered marketing segment, which thankfully for Disney, the parks, the guests, and even Pixar - never materialized.

That's because they're terrified they'll be found out as useless to the operation of the company. Walt would of called them "dead weight."
