O.k., I'm heading out to Coronado Springs in Oct. My kids favorite things is the Rapid Refill. Yes. A trip to WDW and the first thing they ask about is a plastic mug. So, I'm not doing the dining plan but can I purchase a rapid refill mug separate so I can have my unlimited soda and lemonade while I watch Stacy's Must Do Disney?

$16.49 I believe for your length of stay; used to be scaled pricing based on your number of days and now there is just one price.
Thanks for the info! Yea, gotta pay at WDW. Wish it was scaled. So if the average 12 oz can of Coke costs a buck then my family of four will have to drink 66 sodas in three days to make this break even. Ha ha! But I have to have my Rapid Refill!!

Love the unlimited lemonade and love Stacy!!

Unfortunatley - the average 12 oz can of Coke at Disney is most likely closer to $3 :)
You know it! I was more thinking the machine down the hall at my work. Pretty sure you really couldn't buy anything for 1 dollar at WDW. But They are the best of the best and I know it costs money to keep the place great. Congrats on surviving your bc, too :)

Today Disney removes handles from refill mugs. That is going to make it tough on small kids and some with certain disabilities. Add in difficult to tethered on backpacks. I'm sure it is cheaper to manufacture and ship

Thanks Gabe1! Interesting. Yea, has to be a cost reduction move. Can't see any other reason why.

This is the before and after photo from Facebook/Chip & Co. Don't know who actually took the photo.

Plus its one less question the CP Merch CM's have to ask.

CP CM (Timmy): Um.. Which way do the handles point? Left or right.

MGR CM: (slaps self in face) Timmy, just put the cup on the shelf.

Huge reduction in overhead right there. Less time off for MGR CM and Timmy gets to keep is job.

No, wait a second...... Now Timmy's gonna ask how do you pick up the mug with no handle.

Nevermind........

LOL

Bah! Not impressed.

Me either. One of us would head to refill the mugs for family of 4. How, with use of handles.

Psst. Topic Refill mug. Here is forum for middle aged people who are threatened by the young, college millennials. ;):hilarious:

I read that the ones without a handle are just a trial to get guest feedback and that so far they're only at Saratoga Springs.
I like the handle so hopefully it isn't gone forever.
