1.Wilderness Lodge - Dollar for dollar, I think this is the best resort on property. Cost is less than other deluxes, but you get just as much bang for your buck. It's always clean, the theming is top-notch, and the food is great.

2.Polynesian - Rooms are huge, location is the best, food is great, and had an awesome atmosphere. Only problem with it is that it can be slightly dirty in some places.

3.Grand Floridian - Beautiful rooms, no bad views. Great location for Magic Kingdom. Can be a bit intimidating though.

4.All Star Movies - No other resort has such a cool Disney vibe to it. Best food court on property, fun swimming pools, great bus service.

5.Port Orleans Riverside - Beautiful landscaping. Boat service to DTD. Themed very well.

6.Pop Century - Like the All Stars, food court is great. Theming is just below ASMovies in my opinion.

7.Caribbean Beach Resort - Lovely grounds, great atmosphere. Sadly, the bus service is pretty bad.

8.All Star Music - Food court is OK. Atmosphere is just slightly better than Sports.

9.All Star Sports - See above.

10.Yacht Club - Biggest disappointment for me. It looks beautiful on the outside, and is beautiful in the inside. It simply lacks the Disney feel to me. Long walks from some guest rooms. Service was less than stellar for a resort in this price range. Bus service was bad.

11.Old Key West - I liked nothing about this resort except the boat to DTD. Way too big, long walk to pool and restaurants, shops. Bus service was abysmal. Felt like a retirement community.

Why in the world would I lie? Why would anyone make these comments up? What is there to possibly gain?

You're a strange person.

I know for a fact that people would lie or make stupid comments about a resort....on our downtime we would check out our rating on the Disney website and the lies were unbelievable.....people lying about how we had no quick service....how our pool closed early...etc. That is why i dont trust those comments.....

Plus peoples complaints are usually a joke....

Im a strange person? Coming from the guy who flat out lies about the resort just because in MY OPINION it is perfect....how come you are not attacking the Yacht and Beach Club which i said was perfect too?

Sorry i can understand legit critiques about a resort but lies will not fly with me.

I haven't lied about anything. Again, what is there to gain for that? Do I win a prize?

I'm not attacking the Yacht and Beach because, although I didn't like it, I didn't see anything wrong with them in terms of cleanliness, housekeeping, maintenance, pool size, hot tubs, dirtiness.

Are you saying that the guide books claiming that the Poly's walls are paper thin are lying? Or the fact that they don't have their own health club and public hot tub is a negative is a lie?

I agree that some complaints are a joke, but to call me a liar because I noticed some things you didn't is really weird.

This is what one genius said about the resort:

"The room was so cute and conveniently located, small. I elected to sleep on the sofa/twin pseudo futon."

Really the room is small? Except that the Polynesian has the biggest rooms, tied with the Contemporary. Oh and not only are they the biggest in the resort they are also 25% bigger than a standard deluxe non-disney resort room.....

lets get back to resort ranking...

Lets see all those things you mentioned cleanliness etc. are nonproblems at the Polynesian thus the reason why i think you are a lying.

Yes i am claiming that guide book is MISTAKEN. Poly's walls are not paper thin....

They do have a health club, it is shared with our SISTER resort the Grand Floridian, just like the Yacht club does not have its own pool but SHARES a pool with the Beach Club. And having not public hot tub is not a negative since hot tubs are not important at all....sorry but that guide book is a joke.

Here is what a genius said about the Beach Club:

"We stayed in early August. We read the reviews in making this hotel one of our choices. The location of the hotel was great, but I do not see how anyone can rate the hotel above three stars. On two occasions, we had to wait over 40 minutes for a bus to Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon. When we complained to the concierge, they dismissed our complaints. Frankly, we thought the concierges were helpful, but were somewhat aloof or arrogant. About what----Disney!!!! It made me want to puke.

The bed were not much better than what you get at a Holiday Inn Express or a Fairfield Inn. There was no coffee shop type restaurant. Most every hotel that we have stayed at for a vacation has a restaurant that fills that function. As a result, for a short breakfast or a lunch, you had to go to the Marketplace. It has the worst coffee we ever tasted. Disney must cut the grounds used in half. The rolls were not even equal to the quality at a Panera Bread. We did not eat at the restaurants so we can not comment on those. Based on the upscale restaurants that we ate elsewhere, I would save the money.

Finally, we have to comment about Stormalong Bay. We do not undersntand all the hype. A slide at a pool is not a major thing. The pool was really no better than at most major resorts. The towel service was appreciated, but nothing really stood out.

Overall, we think the fact the resort was within the Disney complex allows it to survive. We would never stay at this hotel for its price at a different location. We think its association with Disney clouds people's vision. $10/day for internet service and televisionservice which only has Disney/ABC/ESPN channels is really unacceptable.

Would we stay there again? Only if we got the deal we did since you get extra Disney hours, transportation, and transit from the airport. However, if you do not want to be bound to the bus, want a better pool, and better food choices, I would stay elsewhere"

You want to tell me with a straight face that people dont lie on these reviews? I would love to sit down and talk with this guy because i found what he wrote to be absolutely joke worthly

I have experienced uncleanliness at WDW resorts too, mildew and black mold in the bathrooms, etc. I have also experienced "seemingly paper thin" walls before. It may not be a norm, but if someone has experienced it (and more than once) than it's not a lie.

And I do think that not having a public hot tub is a negative for a resort. Just saying...

Get off of your "used to work there high horse"

Completely different. A guest from the Poly can't use the GF's pools, and vice versa. The Poly does not have a health club. Because of this, they allow to use the GF's. As for hot tubs not being important at all......I don't even know how to respond to that.[/QUOTE]

Of course you are going to find people who say ridiculous things about a hotel. But if you're going to call everyone who says anything negative about the Polynesian a liar, you're gonna have an awful lot of confrontations here. As I said, I love the Poly and can accept it's faults. But I'll say what I experienced there, good or bad and don't expect to be called a liar just because you don't happen to agree with what I'm saying, or because you didn't experience what I experienced.

i agree with alot of stuff in that post. The television service at the resorts does stink major. And it is ridiculous that the resorts charge $10/day for internet when most resorts are including it nowadays...Disney needs to jump on that bandwagon.

Bus Service there isn't the best either...doesn't it share with Swan/Dolphin and the boardwalk? It's just as bad as Wilderness Lodge sharing DTD service with Fort Wilderness and GF.

We all know the coffee at Disney is horrible...

What's so wrong with someone saying stormalong isnt that great? That's just an opinion...and maybe it's not worth all the hype. Personally I think that Blizzard Beach is a lame water park...but that's just my opinion.

And it has been said on here many many times....Disney Deluxe resorts are overly priced compared to other resorts for that price in other destinations. But what we're paying for is the location and the theming. Put Beach Club somewhere else and it might not do well at all.

In my opinion, if it wasn't for my Passholder discount, I wouldn't stay at alot of the Disney resorts. AND, I will never justify the cost of staying at Beach or Yacht club (or Boardwalk) when I can stay at Wilderness Lodge or AK for about half the cost.

You do know that 90% of the rooms have DOORS that connect to another rooms for convenience for parties? So the WALLS are not paper thin, you hear noises because of the connecting DOORS. so that is wrong.

Actually the Grand Floridian is OUR SISTER resort just like the Yacht and Beach....that is a FACT not an opinion. A guest from the Poly can use a pool at ANY Disney resort.

The Poly does have a health club, A SHARED HEALTH CLUB. Again these are FACTS not opinions.

Please state how hot tubs are important? Come on....i am waiting. Hot tubs are health hazards and are useless.....sorry but again you fail.....

Please continue to think your OPINION is fact....proof positive that people will lie about a resort they do not like for some inane reason.

People are expressing opinions here. You might not agree, and opinions might even be mistaken, but they are NOT lying.

I also have noticed "strange" odors at the Polynesian in the hallways from time to time. I have also experienced a lack of housekeeping a some resorts over the years. These things happen, and might not be the norm.

But, they will determine how you feel about a place, for good or bad. We all have different things that make a trip enjoyable, or make it miserable. Something I might not even notice could drive someone else up the wall, and vice versa.

But the fact that I have a different impression, doesn't make it a lie. If someone says he saw mildew, and I never have, it doesn't make him a liar. It just means he didn't have the exact same experience as I. And I can argue with him/her until the end of time, but that isn't going to make one of us right, and the other wrong - nor is it going to change his/her opinion.

Further name calling and arguing will not be tolerated. Thank you.

Now that I have my popcorn I guess I will make my resort list.

1: Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House
All around great resort. The theming, food, pool and cast are amazing. The only partial downfall is that transport to MK or DTD can be a little long due to it's remote location.
2: Beach Club
The location of this resort and it's amazing sand bottom pool with lazy river put this resort in my #2 spot. One major downfall is it's lack lustre CS food options. the BC/YC should have more CS food options.
3: Saratoga Springs Resort
I really loved this resort when I would have a room facing DTD/PI and the fireworks were at midnight every night. It is still a great resort but prefer to be in Congress Park for the short walk to DTD. This allow me to visit other resorts for dinner and have a easy way home through DTD.
4: Wilderness Lodge
Love the theming, but have had bad room the couple of time we stayed here. I enjoy going to the beach in the evening to watch the Water Pagent and relax with a cocktail.
5: Coronado Springs Resort
I really love the theming in this resort. The quaint alleys between the Castitas with hidden fountains. The lake is breathtaking at night and theis resort has one ot the top pools on property. Great resort for a moderate.
6: Old Key West
Quiet resort with the largest rooms. Had an issue here once so that kind of puts this resort down on the list. I do like the boat transportation to DTD and I like to walk the path between OKW, SSR and DTD in early morning. This resort is also lacking in food options. Ths CS food options are limited and Olivia's menu is nothing special. The pool are is fun for kids and they always have some sort of activities for the kids and adults as well.
7: Caribbean Beach Resort
This is the only resort I can personally say I do not really enjoy. I have a had a few problems in the past here and heve never left with a warm and fuzzy feeling to come back. I have however returned to have something else go wrong. Will not go again! The resort is visually stunning.

How does the television service suck? It offers all basic channels just like pretty much EVERY resort i have ever been too....actually they offered more options then a FIVE star resort i stayed in when i was in Las Vegas....

Why should Disney offer free internet? YOU ARE ON VACATION WHY WOULD YOU BE GOING ONLINE? Other resorts offer free internet so that they can keep you in the hotel room....Disney does not want to restrain you. Plus Internet service is not a Diamond or Star rating standard.....

Bus service is a legit complain...i posted the whole post instead of cherry picking the stupidity.

About the coffee it depends on where you go and what is your taste....taste is an opinion and not Fact.

Do you know what goes into the price of the room? If the Beach Club was not on Disney property you would not pay as much because you wouldnt have to pay for transportation, security, etc. that all goes into the hotel price.

Yacht and Beach Club are so highly regarded by Travel Magazines and Hospitality experts that posts like this make me laugh.

The channel lineup is definitely sub-par. Some movie channels would definitely be appreciated. All other resorts I've ever stayed at have offered movie channels and it's usually free. I don't know about you but I get board with resort TV, or watching Stacey 10 times... The Company Flix station is a waste too...bring back the animated shorts channel!

And you might not realize this, but the internet is a big part of life. Yes you're on vacation, but who said my vacation shouldn't include going on the internet. My fiance loves to post pictures up on facebook in the evenings when we come back from somewhere while on vacation to keep everyone up to date with our trips. We usually have atleast one laptop with us anyway to unload memory cards if we're taking alot of picture on our trip. And in my case (and alot of people) as much as you hate to have to do any work while on vacation...sometimes I get an email or meeting request on my blackberry that I just can't ignore and I need internet access to respond to the issue. There is absolutely no reason why Disney shouldn't include internet service for free other than they're just trying to nickle and dime us. It's absurd.

and again...it is a pretty widely accepted FACT that the "coffee" they serve around the majority of the resort isn't good. It's not even really coffee. It's instant Nescafe mix stuff that is basically colored water. I don't mind the in-room brews, but the other stuff isn't good. In fact allears.net actually has a section on their website that says "where to find good coffee in WDW".
