And Guardians of the Galaxy does not fit at Epcot. Yet here we are.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why they wouldn't add Zootopia to AK, but whether it "fits" is clearly not a disqualifying factor.
Maybe not for Disney but it should be for fans of Disney theme parks.

Just because they’ve ruined other parks doesn’t mean we should encourage them to do the same with Animal Kingdom.

Wakanda can be used but the character black panther cannot, there's plenty of room for a Wakanda experience and it would work without the character if it just focuses on the wildlife and architecture/music.

Dinoland USA is alot more out of place than Wakanda being there. It's a concrete mess of a land.

No way they do a Black Panther based land without Black Panther, not going to happen.

Am I the only one who sees ....

“Train ride to animal kingdom dance party”

....just about to be be announced?

Seriously though...there is so much being said about what ‘fits’ where...and it’s all opinion. Which is cool. We all have them
How can Jungle Book fit? A jungle city of talking animals
But Zootopia not? A city of talking animals

I’ll just wait to see what they announce...if they do announce anything as a replacement ...and go from there.

A lot of CMs to operate said places that don't immediately return the attraction. These are the first kinds of things cut. And yes, the money paying for the increase in wages will come from somewhere. It is not "right" but it is the way it is.

Wakanda would actually fit best in Epcot, especially if they focused on the technology or cultural aspects. It could work in AK if they were demonstrating some sort of conservation tech that lets them live better with the land.

Zootopia in would fit best in Hollywood Studios. Something about a cartoon in a modern city just doesn’t feel right in AK, even if the characters are animals.

I’d be fine with Zootopia in DHS. They could probably put it in that backstage area behind Star Tours.

I think this would be acceptable and practical if they were also converting ST into a Toontown Trolley-esque Zootopia Bus simulator. FWIW, I think the Zootopia IP would be best utilized in DHS. It's a cute movie that has "enough" going for it that it could be the IP to help bring more families to DHS. Something like a simple spinner ride (*Aladdin or TriceraTops Spin) legitimate "jungle gym" style playground, an interactive sleuth scavenger hunt AR mobile attraction, a few kiosk shops, and the D-ticket Zootopia Bus ride to round it out would make a semi-decent Zootopia mini land at DHS, if considered. The question however remains: Is the IP bankable enough to justify a mini land or single attraction? That's for Disney to determine.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Rafiki discussion.

Would this closure fall under the Phase 2 development of Avatarland? I know the end goal is more footpath and access but would a train ride to Pandora (with screenz) be logical? Is the entire track being ripped up? Conservation Station to Pandora Conservation Station? I hope they haven't backburned Phase 2 of Pandora.

I’m sad to see this go. I just talked with a CM at RPW and she said that they were just told yesterday that this area will no longer be accessible to guests after 10/21, but the facilities and animals will stay for now and be cared for and the CMs will go to other areas in the park, like the trails. They’re still figuring out what to do with some of the activities and education animals that are now at RPW.

As a passholder I always enjoy coming to RPW for special events, like International Vulture Awareness Day and Earth Day, when they have special activities and tables with information. I hope they’ll continue to do these things somewhere else in the park.

The animals in Jungle Book still act as animals. The animals in Zootopia act as humans. It’s a human in animal form. They all have jobs and cell phones and ride vehicles. Jungle book is still animals in animal form.
