R.I.P Wayne Allwine (voice of mickey mouse)

Did Wayne do anything in-between this past Christmas and before his death? Because Mickey kind of sounded...off in the Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories game that came out at the end of last year. I wonder Wayne was starting to feel bad back then.

But in any case...I...I just don't what to say right now. Considering Wayne is the first of the current Fab Four cast to go (Him, Russi, Bill, and Tony), things just aren't going to be the same anymore.

Not to divert from the subject at hand, but I know there are folks who are curious...

From VoiceChasers:
We have heard auditions for his successor as the voice of Mickey have been going on for several months now, and Allwine has been very active in the selection process.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I can't even begin to imagine how it is for Russi. I don't know how they did it before, but I'd guess that recording dialogue between Mickey and Minnie will now be two different recording sessions, just so Russi doesn't have to hear her husband's character recorded by someone else...

This is so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with Russi and the whole family. Hes going to be missed by millions. Even if they dont realise it.

I'm shocked not a single other news scource is not picking up on this. You'd think it would be big news that the media would want to jump on?

Anyways, thoughts and prayers. He will be really missed. :( He's the voice of Mickey I've been listening to all my life really. I wonder who they will pick as the replacement.

He is only the third person to "sit in for the boss," as he has said before (the first voice of Mickey having been Walt himself). I know that he really enjoyed his job.

I hope that his successor is chosen internally (i.e., an employee), as they have been before (I think). It adds to the family nature of the work and continuity of the character. The Leonard Maltin interview mentioned above is also on the Treasures DVD "Mickey Mouse in Color". (I think that is the name.)

Either way, my prayers are with his family.
