I was wondering if I were to not add the park hopping to my ticket would I be able to come and go to the one park I choose for the day? I like to go back to my resort for a nap.

Hmmmm. Thats a good question. When you get your hand stamped. don't that allow you to enter ANY park?

I rember when we would go and use the CM tickets, you didnt get a "stub" and when we would leave the MK and go to MGM we just passed our hand under the black light upon entering.

The hand stamp serves one purpose: to prove that YOU were the person to use YOUR ticket earlier that day. They want to make sure you don't go into a park, then leave and give your ticket to someone else so they can tour the park, and so on. Once your ticket goes thru the turnstile for the first time of the day, it is "flagged" and will tell the attendant at the next turnstile you pass thru that day that you have already been to a park. If you dont not have a park-hopper, and you're trying to enter a different park, you'll be denied admission. Also, if you put your hopper into the turnstile, and you've already been to a park, you'll have to show your hand stamp to prove you were the one who used the ticket already that day.

The hand stamp does not guarantee you admission, nor does it guarantee you hopper privileges. If you have a single-park ticket, you can NOT enter another park that day, period.

7-day plus ticket vs 5-day hopper ticket

If I purchase a 7-day Magic Your Way ticket w/Park Plus Option could I go to two different parks in 1 day using up 2 days of my ticket.

In other words can I do the following with a 7-day Magic Your Way Ticket

Sunday--MK
Monday--MK, (night)Pleasure Island
Tuesday--MK, (afternoon)Typhoon
Thursday--MGM, Epcot
Friday--Animal Kingdom, Epcot

I always wondered what the point of the hand stamp was. But now that they do the finger check for everyone I'd imagine they wouldn't need the hand stamps anymore right?

No you cannot. A MYW ticket that does not have the hoopper add-on can only be used to gain admission to a single park per day.

But why can't you use up 2 of the admissions in one day if you want? I can't imagine why they wouldn't let you do that.

Because it would be cheaper to add extra days than to purchase the hopper option.

Remember on MYW base ticket... it is only $8 more for a 5 day vs 4 day, and then difference only continues to shrink for extra days.... where the hopper option is $35 more.

Not only that I cant imagine the administrative nightmare it would be if a person who didnt get the hopper option tried to use the ticket at a second park, the extra day gets taken at that point, and at the end of the trip they are a day or three shy of the number of "days" that they bought!!!! Guest Relations would be having an absolute BLAST!!!!! Belle

The 7 day park ticket allows you to enter MK, MGM, AK and Epcot - one park per day, for 7 days (they expire 14 days from the first date of use). You can come and go to any one of these 4 main theme parks as many times as you want in the same day. The PLUS options which include, PI, TL, BB, and DQ are separate features of the ticket and can be used at ANY time on any day within the same 14 days until they expire.

I have known people int he past that used to just hand out their tickets to there friends in front of the Magic Kingdom. This was before they started with the hand stamps.
