Questions about the Beach Club

Hello all,

We're considering taking the family to WDW this September and are seriously thinking about staying at the Beach Club.
More than anything, I'm wondering how the rooms are and what kind of activities there are for the kids after the parks close. I know about the pools, etc but what else is there?

We never stayed at the Beach club but seriously considered it. We like being in that area of WDW. How old are your kids? I know there is a beach, boat rentals, and babysitting( but more like a kids club thing) at night. Our kids are young so we are lucky if they stay awake until the parks close. They usually crash by the time we get back to the hotel. As do we!

We have stayed at the yacht club without kids and loved it. So I am sure you will too. The convenience of the location can not be beat!

I love the Beach Club! I have stayed there a few times and I always enjoy it.

The rooms are about 380 square feet. There are two sinks outside the bathroom door, a refrigerator and ample storage. Here are some pictures of the room.

When you check in, ask for a recreation flyer. It will give you a list of activities. There are movies each night on the beach, games in the lobbies (sometimes with characters), pool games etc.

There is also an arcade, watercraft rentals, biking, etc.

Across Crescent lake is the Boardwalk and there are entertainers which is fun to catch. Shops, eateries and games along the Boardwalk to enjoy.

You'll get the Tides & Tribune which is a resort atlas that has information. Ask the cast member about activities at your resort and the surrounding resorts as well. They sometimes have printouts of the entire area.

Make sure you stop at Beaches and Cream

I've heard a lot of good things about Beaches and Cream and will have to check it out when I go. When were were at WDW in 2008, we went to the Beach Club for the seafood buffet and loved it.
This could be a great chance for us to stay there and take it all in. One of the big things for me is the ease of getting to DHS and EPCOT either via boat or walking. I do NOT like the bus system and want to try and avoid using it as much as possible. This seems like a great step in the right direction.

We have stayed there twice and it is our favorite resort by far. The location by the boardwalk and Epcot cannot be beat. As others have stated, there are things to do at the resort other than the pool. Our kids have enjoyed the arcade as well as the evening movies on the beach. They play popular Disney movies on a large inflateable screen. Stay at the Beach club, you will not regret it...:)

The BC and the WL are our two favorite resorts. The pool is wonderful, they have smores and show movies on the beach many evenings, and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing. Add that to the proximity of EPCOT, and it can't be beat! Our two kids 5 and 3 love it.

That's one of the main reasons I'm so interested in staying there. With it being close to EPCOT and DHS, that makes it very convenient. The other nice thing is that if you really want to, you can go into EPCOT, walk to the monorail station and ride it to the Magic Kingdom.

True about the monorail, although to be honest, it's usually quicker just to hop on the bus to the MK because you still have to transfer monorails at the TTC. Another really cool thing that we've done is go for an evening swim at the BC. Then about 15 minutes before Illuminations, put on some shorts and flip flops and make the short walk to France to watch the show. Pretty awesome being able to do that spur of the moment!

Sounds like a perfect place for you and your family. Wife and I just got back from Beach Club. We went just for the resort as we are doing the parks with the kids in August (ages 3,6,9). We were so close to Epcot that I was tempted to spring for a ticket to spend the day even though we told ourselves we wouldn't. We walked to the gates and had a decent view of the illuminations fireworks one night and saw them again from a restaurant on the Boardwalk another. You will love the convenience to Epcot and sounds like you'll like the boat to DHS. My wife and I walked to DHS one afternoon just to see how close it was. Wasn't bad, but with tired feet, the boat would be better. Also, the ages of your kids, I am guessing they will love the water slide. Wife and I rode it a couple times. (I loved the sand in the pool) Finally, as covered by others, Disney movies every night at the beach, and also, activities and games were offered pool-side everyday for 2-5 or so. I am not sure you can beat the convenience of having two parks so accessible. I am going to miss that in August riding the busses 4 times a day from Port Orleans RS (and we didn't even go to the parks in a few weeks ago)
