My friend and I are going to WDW in Oct. This will be our first Oct. trip (we've both gone in May before). We are trying to get some information on MNSSHP. Can anyone tell me if this would be a fun time for 2 adults? Does this only run on certain days of the week? Does Spectromagic ever run on the same night as MNSSHP? And how about Wishes? Thanks in advance!

There is a special Halloween parade for MNSSHP, and a special Hall-o-Wishes firework show also. The parade and firework show is awsome. My wife and I even dressed up in costumes and had a great time at MNSSHP. Spectromagic does not run the same night as MNSSHP due to the park closing early. Info on MNSSHP should be coming up soon, I think it was in May when I got our tickets. Look at last years schedule to get an idea when it runs during October. Have a spooky time!!

I have a similar predicament...and have looked into it. It is only a few nights per week. It costs extra to get in... I think about $45 per person. You have to leave the park at 6 with all general population or buy your ticket and get a wristband (not sure if you still have to leave for an hour (I'd doubt it as that is a waste of time for everyone and by the time you clear out the whole park it's gonna be an hour anyways).
There is not a spectromagic or wishes but there is because there is Hallowishes and a Halloween themed spectromagic parade and a Halloween themed villains stage show at the castle.
As for it being fun......

The wife and I were discussing. On one hand how often do you get to one of these special events....also the parade, and villains stage show seem unique and fun (fireworks are fireworks really) On the other hand, not all rides are open, there is trick or treating but we don't have kids, there are dances and costume parties and we don't really dance and wouldn't go to a costume party cause we're all about the rides.
So, it sounds fun to families but would you pay an extra $50 to hit the park from 7-12 in addition to the ticket you already bought for that day to see a parade and show?

Those are my thoughts and I'm not sure whether we are going or not yet.:animwink:

Now I have a question...isn't the parade spectromagic but Halloween themed....or is it a normal parade in the dark?

No, it is not Spectromagic at all. It is entirely different.

BTW looks like we are swapping dates this year with you. We normally go in October and are going in May, just the opposite of when you go.

Is it a light up parade? See, now I am leaning on checking it out for the show and parade. Are the fireworks different? Do they blow up in pumpkin shapes and such?

The fireworks show is call HalloWishes, and the parade is Boo To You. The fireworks show is spectacular, and the parade is a lot of fun. It is not a Halloween-themed SpectroMagic.

There are also lots of other things to do. You are given a bag for you to fill lots of candies at Candy stations all over the Magic Kingdom. There are also several places where Characters in Halloween costumes are available for meet-and-greet. You can also dress up for the event.

WOW:eek: I'm surprised to see a MNSSHP post already.

My DW and I have no kids and have gone twice. In a nut shell if you like halloween then it is worth it to go.

Hallo-Wishes is basically a Halloween themed Wishes. I won't give it away, but it is great.

The parade is not a Spectromagic parade. It is a special Halloween themed parade with the headless horseman, lots of villians, special music and great different floats.

You can dress up as an adult and it is fun to do so (or at least wear something that is in the spirit). You can get candy if you want. If you like taking pictures with the characters they are all in their halloween outfits.

Go and have fun. It is a great time!

Yes, go to MNSSHP if you have never been before. The tickets USUALLY go on sale around may Even if you don't have kids with you or do not want to wear a costume, go ahead an attend. Sometimes we go twice in the same trip.

HOLD UP! You do not have to leave the park at closing time. With the ticket you can enter the MK around 4pm. If you are already in the park they begin to hand out wristbands also around 4pm. At 6pm CM's begin to herd out folks with out wristbands.

The events that night are by no means for kids only. My sister has been a few times with some of her friends from college. If candy is not your thing you can skip trick or treating, but again it's not only for kids. They even pass out empty bags for you to fill up with candy and you can always get another if yours fills up. No one is required to wear a costume either. The night we were there it was about 50-50.

The parade and fireworks were amazing and completely different than the regular ones. Most rides are running and when we were the only wait we had was about 10 minutes and that was for Peter Pan. I remember specifically walking straight on to BTMRR (even rode 2ce), POTC, HM, Snow White, Pooh, and Buzz. We met tons of characters some of which I've never seen in the parks before and we came home with 4 bags full of candy.

I can't seem to find the schedule for last year, can someone point me in the right direction? We're going end of Sept. to early Oct. and really want to attend. Would the parties be on the same dates (22nd, 27th, etc.) but different days of the week or the other way around? We're trying to plan out our ADR's and such. This info would really help out.

Here's a link with last year's schedule http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnssh.htm

You can probably look for the party to be on the same days of the week as last year, but not the same dates (22nd, 27th, etc.), but nothing is guaranteed until Disney make the official announcement.

Absolutely yes! MK seems transformed during the party, less crowds, way more opportunity for shorter queues (at one point we got to ride splash mountain again and again without getting off the ride), plus all the costumes, the fireworks are a little different and awesome. i would say it was our favorite night on our 12 day trip last oct.

the fireworks, parade, (especially the horseman) and the amount of candy that you can get is worth the price of admission alone.

this is also a good time to ride a lot of rides since they cap the attendance at around 20k

tip: get tickets for the last night and bring an empty backpack... they bring all of the candy that is left over and dump it in troughs at the exit, you will have candy for the next two years.

We (2 adults) went last October for our first time. Basically, if you have the chance, DON'T MISS IT!!

The themeing around the park is fantastic after dark (I won`t spoil it) and really different to the normal park lighting. Candy, as above :) and the Boo To You parade is great (and long!)

Finally, HalloWishes is one of the best MK pyro shows this side of New Years Eve. Totally different to Wishes, and a stunning presentation.

If you plan on staying late...it's definately worth it. By 10pm, the park is pretty empty (compared to daytime). You can pretty much get on ANY ride with little or no wait at all!!! It's awesome. We went as a group of 6 adults and had a blast. We all got candy and rode on a lot of rides. I thik it's worth the extar money with or w/out kids!

We've made several October trips and they have been great. Last year was a little rainy, but put on the poncho's and head to the parks. This year is going to be a May trip for us. 126 days to go. :sohappy::sohappy:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Halloween Party. My husband and I went in 06' and it was amazing! Lots of people dressing up, parade was great, fireworks were great. There is a TON of candy, not just for kids. I was actually amazed at how empty the rides were. We got on Splash Mountain without any wait at all and only rode with one other couple.

Personally, I think its worth the extra money. Its just something different and exciting to experience at Disney. Costumes were a lot of fun. Just remember, its still hot in FL then, so don't wear head to toe polyester just because its a cool costume :)
