OK. So I am celebrating my 4 year olds birthday by taking a trip to disney world next Sept. I am a single mother and the girl that is coming along with us is her babysitter. She's been her babysitter since she was about 6 months old. My daughters father isn't around at all and her babysitter has helped me so much. I want to do something special for her on this trip. Any suggestions?

P.S. I don't know if she would be comfortable with a massage. She's not really that type.

WOW, just having her come along on a trip to Disney with the two of you is great. Wonderful to have someone you can count on and trust with your little one. Lots of possibilities.... How about treating her to a meal in a restaurant of her choice. Give her Disney gift card just before the trip that she can splurge on herself in the gift shops. Get a lot of great photos taken and make up a photo album of the trip as a gift.

I'm not totally comfortable with the massage at the spas either. I have a best friend at home who is a massage therapist and that's all that really works for me. Anyhoo....how about a pedicure in one of the spas? I've had a couple at Grand Floridian and they were fabulous and quite welcome on my tired and achey Disney feet. Flowers or cake delivery is a nice idea too. But also; you kind of can't beat taking her to Disney!!! That's quite the thank you in itself.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna look around at the spa's and just see what they have. Maybe I'll find something. Btw..what is jellyrolls? lol
Jellyrolls is an age 21+ piano bar on the Boardwalk (hotel near Epcot). It serves drinks, everyone sings along and it is a child free good time.

That is so thoughtful of you!! I'm a nanny and the family I worked for (they moved) gave me a an extremely generous gift card to WDW b/c they knew my DH and I were planning our trip and that I am a Disney junkie. We are going to do something special with it - i.e. go on a tour, go to the spa, a special souvenir. We still can't decide what to use it on. Anything you do is going to be special for her!!! If she likes hand bags, you could get her a dooney & bourke bag. Or she might like a mani/pedi if she is not a spa person.

I'm thinking about doing the dessert party for her birthday and maybe just getting her a gift certificate at the spa for ashley.

I would def suggest a day or two off depending on length of stay! Or when you get home a hotel gift cert so she can spend time w/friends and chill! Disney is a tough place to hang out by yourself in my opinion. I went down by myself for ten days w/my then 16 mo old DS. It was great but I spent a lot of time on my cell and missed people I knew!

It's just gonna be me her and my daughter. She's really excited about the trip. I asked her if she wanted to just have a week off while we go and she said she would rather go to disney!

I think it's lovely that you are taking your daughter's babysitter -- a good sitter is worth her weight in gold! As others said, a gift card is a great idea -- and make sure she's got an "evening off" at WDW to go use it!
