What are some of the really famous music stars in Britain right now? Actually, what are some of the more famous rock names? I really hate pop and that other stuff. I'm talking just electric guitar, bass, and drums. LOL! I know this sounds like a weird question, but I was just wondering... If anyone chooses to answer this, thanks in advance.

A lot of the bands are american.

Of the british ones: Coldplay, Travis, Oasis.

If you mean older ones e.g. old bands: Paul Weller, Eric Clapton

If you make it a wee bit more specific...

Are any of you from Wales? I wanna hear you speak "welsh"! (what was the name of that language? I forgot! Gaelic? ) That was a very hard one to even figure out, lots of consonants together! :animwink:

There are a few different types of gaelic.

The main ones are scottish and irish i think, and welsh is pretty different.

Welh did spawn this monster word though!

'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch

This is the name of a town in North Wales. The name translates as "The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave" in Welsh, has long claimed the fame of having the longest name in the world.'

Someone was wanting to hear some Welsh dialect. Happy to oblige

Pnawn da. Sut wyt ti heddiw. Lara ydw i. Dwi'n bwyn yn gymru. Dwi'n mwynhau Disneyworld, a dw i'n mynd eto i'r Orlando a mis Tachwedd. Dach chi iso panned o de, pobl?

There you go!

It means...

Good afternoon. How are you? I am Lara. I live in Wales. I enjoy Disneyworld, and I'm going to Orlando again in December. Does anyone want a cup of tea?

Ha ha ha :king:

Now I'm just being a British stereotype, or Mrs Potts!!

By the way, Justin Timberlake is like huge over here right now, with his current CD at number 1 in the album charts.

He also recently appeared on the top UK music awards, namely The Brits, and completely stole the show.

I'm a Brit, but I love so many American things. For example, well, Disneyworld of course, bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters. TV shows like Dawsons Creek NYPD Blue, Friends, and ER. I wanna be like you-o-o

I swear, I must watch about 2 home-made shows a week, compared with so many American-made shows.

You rule!!!

Iechyd da!!!

A substitute teacher at my school talks exactly like the stereotypical british person, though!! It's super funny!! The guy is from London, by the way, and his name is Mr. English! Anyways, he always says stuff like "spot of tea" and other weird things I can't understand...

minniemouseuk, you guys do have the best comedy ever, though!! :p
