Hello! I am a first time visitor to Disney World next week. Can anyone give me a general idea of how much the princess costumes cost? Thanks!

Someone else can probably be more specific, but from what I have noticed (I don't have children, so I have never bought a princess dress!), there seem to be two tiers of pricing. The nicer dresses seem to be in the $60 range, and the less fancy ones cost a bit less (not sure exactly how much). I only know about the higher end stuff because my husband's cousin bought them for his daughters and I was surprised at the total at the register.

I actually think the $60 ones ARE the cheap ones!! I think they range in price form $60-80  ..absolutely crazy if you ask me!! I can never believe all the people who buy them--and they dont even seem to be very nice quality.

There is a Cinderella "wedding dress" my daughter is begging for that for dress and veil would have been $140. That is just insane!

I HAVE JUST RETURNED YESTERDAY FROM WDW AND WE GOT MY NIECE'S DRESS FROM THE WORLD OF DISNEY "THE DISNEY BOUTIQUE" ITS CHEAPER TO TAKE IT THIS WAY.

YOU GET A DRESS, SHOES,AND ALL THE TRIMMINGS, YOURE LITTLE PRINCESS GETS HER NAIL,FACE AND HAIR DONE, AND SOME PHOTO'S TAKEN TOO.

ITS REALLY GOOD VALUE , FOR HER TO BE TREATED LIKE A LITTE PRINCESS, AFTER KAITLYN WAS DONE WE TOOK HER TO MAGIC KINGDOM ONE OF THE BEST DAYS WE HAD.

The only one I can price for sure is the Alice In Wonderland Dress at The Grand Floridian which runs about $49.99 and then the shoes to match are about $24.95. We are going to order it for my daughter for Halloween.

Thanks for all the answers! I really appreciate it. I have 2 girls, 4 and 7 and we are going to breakfast in the castle and the princess dinner in Norway and they want to buy a dress for the meals. So, I was trying to figure out how much to budget. Unfortunately I can't find any dresses here where we live to buy to take with us.

Les M, Is that the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique you were talking about? Thanks!

Thanks again everyone!

Don't forget to try Ebay. My wife found a great Cinderella dress for about 2/3 the cost of new one for my daughter, which she wore to the My Prefect Princess Tea Party at the GF.

why are they so expensive :veryconfu

here in the uk in disney stores they are about £20-£25

The quality of the dress's a higher, i give the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique a go, i been to disneyland paris and it does not have this service. plus my lady would like to be done up the same way lol i wonder if they be a service for the lady next ?

the boutique is pure magic as when they call the child name is princess kaitlyn or the childs name.
youre farry god mother is waiting for you.
pure magic a little expensive but worth it.

We travelled over to WDW in "04" and where there for Halloween. My little girl wanted to go to MNSSHP dress as Belle. We promised her the costume as a birthday treat. By chance, we were picking up some supplies from Walmart and found they carried the exact same costume (with Disney labels) for about half the price of the Disney stores! Saved a few quid and everyone was happy!

OMG!!!!! If I take my daughter up there, she'll want one... She's crazy for pricesses and dresses..... Well, I guess a nice option will be to take her to Walmart first, and buy her a cheaper dress. When she gets to the parks, she'll be a princess already, and won't care about the dresses. And she's too young to notice the quality difference...:animwink:

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in The World of Disney has 3 different packages:

The coach= hair and shimmering make-up 35.00
The crown= hair, make-up and nails 45.00
The castle= hair, make-up, nails, costume and photos starting at 175.00 (depending on the costume)

Needless to say I am planning to buy a cheaper princess costume at home around Halloween before our Nov trip and save some money.

They also have a choice of "looks" Fairytale princess, Disney Diva and Popstar Princess. I am sure my 5 year old will go the fairytale route and my 9 year old the Diva or Popstar route (I doubt she'll want a princess dress as well).

BTW you need to make an appointment and they reserve your appointment with a credit card. There is a 24 hour notice cancellation policy

Some stores in the park sell kinda good dresses (Ariel's Wedding Dress, Belle's Yellow Ball Dress, Princess Aurora Pink Dress, and Cinderella's Ball Dress for something between 40 and 50 dollars (i was hanging a lot of them in ToonTown).

Just be careful which dress you get. Some of the cheaper ones are little more than glorified nightgowns, and your child will be COLD in some areas.

The dress, shoes, crown, and other needless stuff :)) ) will set you back well over $100. If you're planning to do everything at Disney, try to get an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Down Town Disney. It's actually a pretty good value.

I guess she'll have to wear the dress over something else, then...

It will be worth it to buy a gown for them....i remember the ones my parents bought me when i was little. i would wear them at the parks...and halloween...infact we still have them in ot attic so i can pass them on to my children...one day... on a side note i had gotten a minnie princess one when i was about 11/12 and that was when my first boy friend i met...we hung out and a year later we were going out... the dresses are boy approved because it makes them prettier and shows that they can dress well....Have fun on your trip.:sohappy: :sohappy: i wish i was going.

LOL That's a cute story!!!

Princess dress

Do you live by a Walmart? In the toys section, they have almost a whole princess aisle and there is a Disney licenced Cinderella dress and also a Snow White dress - so they look exactly like each princess and better yet they each cost only $20 - the quality is fine also. Much better alternative than buying in the parks! PS - The princess breakfast is great
