Anyone know when the SM Parade is? I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like when I was there two years ago, it was ONLY on Saturday nights. Anyone know if this is true? I'm asking because we are supposed to go in May on Sat and come back on a Sat, so I want to know in advance. Thanks!

I know it is currently playing saturdays and days they think the park will be crowded, Once the summer season stats it should be more of a nightly thing than high time.

It really does depend on the time of year. During the slower seasons it may well be only on a Saturday night. However, Peak Seasons (Easter for example) it can be twice a night.

Example, this past week and the next 2 weeks are spring break for a lot of areas. This Monday we are open until 11pm and the night entertainment is Spectro at 8pm, Wishes at 9 pm, Spectro at 10 pm....

Wishes is not a parade. It is a fireworks show, and it replaced "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks show. By all accounts, it is an improvement over what was already a great show.
Will Carousel of Progress be open in May? Can't say for certain. Some believe it will be open until Stich's Escape opens; others think it will only be open during peak attendance times, period. My bet is on option B, meaning it wouldn't be open in May when attendance takes a dip before schools get out and things pick up, but that is just a guess.

Just went to the Walt Disney World Web site and checked May's schedule. Not sure on what week you are going but they do have SpectroMagic Scheduled during the first week a couple of times.

I complained about the scheduling of SpectroMagic 2 years ago as we experienced the same and WDW Guest Relations did give me a call about it. They seemed to be adding it at least 1 week day even in the slowest time of the year. It is amazing how many people show up even during the slow season.
2 years ago in May they only showed SpectroMagic on Saturday's and the size of the crowds the 2 Saturday's we were there were some of the largest crowds I have ever seen at WDW. The only time I have seen larger crowds was on the 4th of July.
The other bad part when they only showed it on Saturday's beside the crowd was they were understaffed and the lines anywhere that sold food and drinks were HUGE!

Wow things have seriously changed since i was last there in 1996. I remember they used to run the parade every night of the week, twice i think. I'm going in August, and just assumed that it would run every night. At least now i know what i'm in for.

How can the park close at 7pm on some nights during the summer? Its not even dark yet. This is very disappointing to me. Obviously, they can't have the parade when it closes at 7. Some of my greatest times at disney were during the nighttime. There's just something about it. Ya know?

The parks have never closed at 7pm when I've been to WDW. I went this past July and the parks were open until 10 or 11, we were at MK past midnight one night.
Disney doesn't just close the parks early to make people mad. More crowds in summer/spring break/holidays = longer hours, less crowds in off season = shorter hours, It makes sense to me. If you don't like the parks closing at 7, don't go in the off season. Universal, Sea world, etc. all close earlier in the off season, too. -Stephanie

ummmmmmmmmm, actually MK closes at 7pm in May only twice and that's May 1st, and 2nd. After that it's 8:30 pm and later.
