Question about Imagination

I just found out that the Undiscover Epcot tour took you to the second floor of Imagination (I don't know how I didn't hear about this in so many years). Does it still do this or have I miss my chance? All that stuff, is it still up there or has there been a major change in recent years (it has been several years since I have payed attention to Disney park news)?

Don't know about the UE tour, but I numerous rule-breakers have been to the top, and indeed a lot of it is still intact.

Thanks for the video.

I know about such videos, although this is the first time I have seen anyone sneak in through the escalators (it is usually through the stairs).

Something I have wondered for years is if the elevator still operates. I'm sure it doesn't have any power but if Disney were to restore power to it, would it work?

I recently went up to ImageWorks (legally :) on the tour ) and the main lobby area under the glass pyramid is virtually the same. Nothing has changed other than the obvious aged carpets, paint on the walls, and deteriorating door signage. There are also some tables in this area with random things like plates, glasses, etc. Very strange.

Within the actual Playground area, the only thing that remains in full is the Rainbow Corridor and Signage, and the Figment's Coloring Book sculptures hanging from the ceiling, but the paint guns are gone. That's as far as we could go. However, I did notice that all signage from Electronic Philharmonic is Gone, as well as the pin tables that set up there for years. The rest has been walled off for use as an Imagineering office (strange?)

The ImageWorks is on the tour if you request it. Officially, it's not on the itinerary because it "doesn't exist".

Hope this helps!

Please note that ImageWorks is not guaranteed and the tour guide may decline even if a guest requests it. If the tour is running behind, or if the group is too large to get in and out in a reasonable time, or if there is work going on upstairs, are a few of the reasons that may cause the cast member to say no.

Elevator works! We used it! Forgot to mention that. And it smells like 1998... (In a good way) . Took the elevator up and the stairs down.

That's cool that the elevator is still running.

I keep seeing sites mention something about the Kim Possible Experience finale being in the old Imageworks in 2006. Does anyone know what that is about?

At one point during the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure was originally called Team Possible the Finale was actually in the Upstairs area of Imageworks using the Making Faces kiosks and the Stage for Dreamfinders school of Drama...Kind of a shame they didn't continue using it...

The whole pavilion is a shame at this point.

Absolutely a waste of space and its fall from grace has been truly disappointing. Every trip, I ride Imagination several times and just get depressed over how dead the area is now. It's sad to see it so empty.

I actually enjoy the current ride a lot more than most people.

I enjoy it too..It's nice that Figment is there so I have no problem with it....Yes everyone wants to the whole attraction back to the way it is...Then you try to figure out how to continuously fix a rotataing stage that was on troublesome levels...I'll stick to what we have...Enjoy it for what it's worth..:)

Whoah.
Never knew that. It's a shame they don't still have a "finale" room for the Fineias and Ferb thing.
Thanks for posting the video.

A CM at Imagination once told me that the upstairs area is often used for kids' group sleep-overs and corporate functions.

This is definately wrong, sorry. Upstairs Imagination (glass pyramid area) is used as a pre-shift meeting area for Imagination CMs and other corporate meetings. The rest is walled off mostly and is used by IT.
