Question about Beaches and Cream location

Ive never been to Beaches and Cream and would like to try it on my next trip. I would plan on taking an hour or two out of my afternoon to leave the parks to try it.
I guess my question is what park would be the easiest to leave and get to without taking a big chunk out of my day, and whats the easiest way to get there? Would we need more then an hour or two, is there anything else worth seeing around that area?

Thanks

If you are in Epcot you can walk over through the International Gateway...if you are at DHS you can take the boat over to the beach club. Once your done there, if you go towards evening or for dessert after dinner, you can than cross over the bridge to the Boardwalk where there is always something going on.....

Beaches and Cream is located at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Your best bet would be to slip out the back door at Epcot (International Gateway) and just walk over there. It is about a 10-15 minute walk. You can always walk around the Boardwalk after that and see the shops and restaurants.

Best bet is EPCOT, go out the International Gateway and walk on over. Second best would be the Studios where you could walk or take the boat over. You won't need more than an hour unless the lace is very busy. When you are done walk on over to the boardwalk and check out the shops or head on over to fantasia Gardens and play some mini golf (if you have the time).

I agree with previous posters. Either walk out of International Gateway (by the UK pavilion) and keep walking past Beach Club heading towards Yacht Club or take the boat to the Yacht and Beach Club. The boat leaves you off at the lighthouse and Beaches & Cream is directly behind the pool. The Kitchen Sink is huge and they make a whole presetation when someone orders it. They also have burgers, etc, It can get really crowded especially at night because it really is not that big. There is a take out area so if you want to get a sundae, shake or cone you can eat it and go over to Boardwalk. Fun place to stop by.

Do you have to be a disney resort guest to go there? We're staying just outside WDW on 192.
Nope. Not at all. You can either walk over there from Epcot or you can park at any of the Boardwalk area hotels and get a three hour pass to eat and walk around.

I got the feeling the resorts don't like offsite people entering...We made a wrong turn last year and ended up at the entrance to one of them and only needed to make a U turn and go back out. The guard made sure we did!!! :veryconfu

Probably because you tried to enter Stormalong Bay which the use is only for Yacht and Beach club guests. If you entered through the lobby, you would have no problem. Not really sure how they would know that you're not staying there especially since the lobby and restaurants are for use by everyone whether you're staying there or not.

How busy is this place? If we walked over and had ice cream before/after illuminations will it be packed?

We have been several times, they take no ADR's just walk ups and usually there is a minimal wait last time took us bout 30 minutes, but there's tables and chairs outside there so wasn't too bad.

Try the Kitchen Sink you know you want too.....

They meant in their car, not walking to the Resort.

Resort hopping is more than encouraged, however depending on when you go at certain Resorts you do have to either be staying there or have a dining reservation to be able to park there. For example, if it is a particularly busy day due to high attendence at the Magic Kingdom or a big convention is here, they will not allow you to park at the Contemporary. You have to either go in using your Key to the World at the Guest gate, or security will check a list to see if you have a reservation. Otherwise they make you U-turn and park at the Magic Kingdom parking lot. They just don't want people parking there for the short walk across the street to the Magic Kingdom. Similar scenario for the EPCOT Resorts. They are being very strict on parking right now because of the Food & Wine Festival. So long story short, depending on when you go, you may or may not be able to park right at the Beach Club where the restaurant is located. As others have said, your best bet is to go the day you're visiting EPCOT, via the International Gateway.

I know that you can't park at AKL unless you are a guest, or have a reservation to dine there; the guard checks the list.

Visiting any resort when using Disney transport is never an issue.

Back to the original topic- Beaches and Cream. Try the Fudge Mudslide. If you're a chocolate fan like DH and me- you'll love it as much as we. We shared this rich and decadent dessert! I would not suggest going after Illuminations- it will be a MOB SCENE! Been there- done that- won't do that again.

Just a caution- when you're visiting- don't try to cut through the pool. They will ask you for resort ID - assuming that you plan on using their much in demand pool. Your best bet is to enter via the lobby of the Beach Club.

BTW- in case there is a wait time- there is an arcade right next door- within buzzer range!

Have a great time!

I've never had any problem visiting any Disney resort. I just tell them what I'm doing there, whether it's to dine, shop, or just look around or possibly meet someone and then they ask to see photo ID such as your drivers license and then they let you go on your way. I usually just use a photo ID instead of my CM ID since I'm off work and the fact I'm a CM shouldn't matter. They've always let me in just fine.

Beaches and Cream should be much less crowded in the day. I've only been at night but when I've been my friends and I were willing to sit at the counter instead of waiting for a table which let us bypass a 30+ minute wait. So that's my only advice is to be willing to compromise and sit at the counter instead of waiting for a table. I had so much fun sitting at the counter and the CM's there really spent more time interacting with you and checking on you so it really works in your favor to bypass the wait for a table.
