Question about 2nd week of November

We have had to yet again change our plans for a WDW trip this year. We were all booked for August and had to change because Football games were early this year.:brick:

We are now going the 2nd week of November and when looking at the crowd guide on touring plans I see that the first two days we are there are 9's. It is showing on Friday (arrival day) a 9 and Jersey Week, same Saturday, on Sunday a 9 and Food & Wine Festival ends. Is it really going to be that bad on these days??? The rest of the trip looks wonderful. Our first trip actually was the 8th -15th back in '98 and it wasn't crowded at all, it was really nice.

Any info or expertise here would be great as I would like to have an idea of what to expect. And are the crowds accurate for this year with the slower crowds that were supposed to be?? We are already booked and cannot change the dates though because I don't want to push to close to Thanksgiving, been there done that and will never do it again! :ROFLOL:

We went during Jersey week and it was busier than any other time we have ever been. But you have to take into consideration we usually go in January, so we are sorta spoiled.... We went for the entire Jersey week, and it was crowded and somewhat difficult to enjoy. However, we were still able to ride everything in all the park atleast once, except for maybe rides like Soarin (just opened) and ones like that. We were unaware that it was Jersey week though and couldn't figure out why the parks were so crowded and everyone had a jersey accent!! We found out when we came home and a friend of my mom asked us why we would go down there when the entire state of New Jersey has school out, ha ha.

My best tip is to print out the list on touringplans of the best and worst days to visit each park, and print out park opening and closing times, as well as the EMH's if you are staying on property. Then just sit down with those things and try to come up with the best itineray. We did that on our last trip during Columbus day week (mistake to go during that week) and although the crowds still got on our nerves, when ended up doing everything we wanted to, and some things 2 or 3 times!

^^ Thanks for the info. We are also spoiled by going late August early September or in Late Feb March. I am just wondering if when we we went in 98 that week if it was Jersey Week?? I think that we will be okay since we will only be 9's those first two days. I hope so anyway as this is the best we will be able to do this year! Surely it can't be as bad as Thanksgiving... that was terrible! :dazzle:

we also were suppose to go in Sept but I have to have back surgery in a few weeks, so I have been advised no rollercoasters for 12 weeks that puts to the 2nd week of Nov. But I have been hearing about Jersey week and how crazy busy it is. I am wondering when Jersey week is and if anyone knows when the slowest period in Nov is?

First of all, not all schools in NJ close the entire first week of November.

In fact last year was the first time we went down to disney that week, and since I work in a school, I had to use my 3 personal days.

We didn't find the crowds to be bad at all. At Epcot, it was busier than usual on the weekend because of the F&W festival. But really, it wasn't summer or holiday crazy.

And, the entire state of NJ does not board every train, bus, plane or car and head down to disney that week.
Some stay behind to watch the pets.

If you can...the week AFTER Thanksgiving is good! But..I know you might be set in stone on your plans....

Teacher's convention here in NJ is Nov 5 & 6 for 2009. So most public schools close at least those days and some even more that week. Most schools reopen on Monday - but depending on Election Day - some may stay closed until Wednesday.

Being I have a pre-schooler - dates aren't important yet. We always leave Saturday or Sunday "after" the schools are closed and go for the full next week. We have had excellent crowds - even with Soap Weekend (which has since been discontinued) and the closing of the food & wine fest. It usually is the opening week of the Christmas party too - so not bad when you add it all together.

Thanks to all those that replied. :wave: It doesn't sound like it will be too bad, so hopefully we are good. I am so spoiled now by going at slower time the thought of a couple of nines just kinda scared me a little bit.:ROFLOL:
