PUSH the Talking Trashcan's last day?

I doubt it, not with a company the size of Disney. They probably recognized that the cut wasn't worth the negative response that had begun....

This entire controversy was manufactured.

The third-party that operates PUSH was not happy with the way contract negotiations were going and then convinced a blogger (I know which one) to tweet out that PUSH was about to go away to create all this hysteria and controversy.

Now this outlet is claiming "Victory" in this endeavour.... that they created in the first place.

So if PUSH was going to go away, its because the Third Party was going to end it - not Disney.

I surprised Disney would capitulate so easily....

Im guessing that the controversy has nothing to do with it. If I'm Disney, I'm saying "He's not going away" with the understanding that he was offered a contract again.

If now he goes away? Its on PUSH and their people, choosing to walk away from what Disney has offered. Which would have this entire campaign blowing up in their face.

It is funny to slowly watch people discover how this magic happens. Equally as funny is listening to those who can't quite figure it out.

IDK man, bloggers getting involved in contract negotiations? Thats pretty messed up.
It is. But, it shows how much power the matts the Lou's and the Ricky's have if they ever decided to turn on Disney. Put the heat on TDO. By any means necessary

It is good to hear however that he will continue to perform for the fun of getting pictures :)

How can it have had no impact? We wouldn't have known about it at all if Attractions Magazine hadn't tweeted about it in the first place. From there, twitter spun out of control. So yes, a simple tweet had a big impact.

You honestly think TDO/WDW gives a toss what the people on social media/message forums says? You think they paid attention? I hardly think so.

Attractions Magazine tweeted that out at the behest of the PUSH operator people because contract negotiations weren't going their way..... likely meaning that PUSH wasn't getting the money they wanted.

With that tidbit public, Disney can play hardball. They can turn around and tell PUSH to take the same contract he had or he can walk. And if he walks, thats on him. They can play the same game, that Disney offered PUSH something very reasonable and instead he chose to roll off into the sunset.

I'm not saying that it affected PUSH going/staying. But i'm pretty damn sure they had to have noticed for them to feel it necessary to release a PR statement about the issue to calm everyone.

No, they gave an answer to a reporter. Thats what PR people do when the press picks up a phone and calls and answers a question.

My point is (and has been) that a simple thing from Jason Garcia to Disney PR wouldn't even have been necessary had Attractions not got everyone riled up. I know PUSH's operators talked them into doing it, but that's completely besides the point. You and I wouldn't be having this discussion right now if it were not for that one tweet. Hell, this thread wouldn't exist.
