...Just booked our ground transportation with Tiffany Towncar. With regards to the 15-20 minute grocery store stop, is one any better than the other, Publix or Albertsons? By better I mean selection and price.

Usually while at Disney we shop at Goodings which is located at the Crossroads across from the Downtown Disney entrance. I don't think it is any more expensive than any other grocery store.

Our last trip YourRide took us to Albertson's, it was the 1st time we had been there since we live in Michigan. We were pleased with it, but we did have to stop and get a "card" so we could get the sale prices. It only took 3 min, but that is a pain and I don't like places that make you do that. We still have the card and plan to stop there again (next trip being 25 days away!!!!) They did have a good selction and many other non grocey items you might of forgot. The produce was good along with selection of meats (deli) and dairy. Also there was a Chick-a-fila in the parking lot. We live too far north for them and LOVE Chick-a-flia. This trip we are going to cut our shopping short a few min and get some lunch there to go!!!!!

Good luck.

I think you mean Chick-fil-A. ;) We have a friend who loves them so much that he plans his stops on road trips according to which exits have one. Unfortunately, fried foods are permanently off my menu. :(

Oh, I'm strictly a Publix shopper (the nearest is only a mile from my house), but do make infrequent forays to Albertson's for compactor bags. Their's are the cheapest, and fit my compactor the best. They seem to have a nice selection, and the store nearest me is always clean and well stocked; I can't say the same for my local Winn-Dixie.

I shop at Publix weekly too. They always have a great selection and great prices. They don't make you join a club just to get sale prices either. Everyone gets the same low price. :)

Thanks All...

...Looks like Publix it'll be. We haven't really decided if we're going to have the driver make the stop or not. I understand the refrigerators at POR aren't much bigger than a shoebox.

Thanks Again. :)

I too would take Publix over Albertson's--personal preference.

Also try Chick-Fil-A for breakfast if you get the chance. They have wonderful chicken biscuits and you can also get a breakfast platter--eggs, chicken, biscuit, and gravy. Good stuff!:slurp:

Publix got my vote. There store smells good. Albertson's always kind of depressed me. I only go the "coinstar" there. Come on down to BVL, we got an Albertsons with a Publix right across the street. If you make it there, you've passed my house, come back and say hi:D

Publix is great... They have yummy sub sammiches they make right then and there for ya... :slurp:

*off topic*

I think there are Chick-fil-A's up in Wisconsin... I know there is one... (or there used to be a Chick-fil-A) in a Mall near my mothers house.... so I am supprised you dont have Chick-fil-A's in MI, but then again there are none here in IL, that I know of... :)

Have never been to either in Orlando, but have been to the ones in Bradenton. We like Publix better. Given my choice I usually will hit Super WalMart.

I´m not sure where you live, but in Orlando, there IS a difference in price between Gooding´s at the Crossroads and the other grocery stores.

Of course, the closer to LBV you are, the more expensive everything gets! :animwink:
