Does anyone else think that the Astro Orbiter may be quietly going away when considering what Project Stardust is all about? At the very least they have to be getting rid of the rocks. It going down as TBD at this time is highly suspect.
One can only hope....

Definitely tho I wonder why they have Space Mountain scheduled to go down til TBD as well.

Ya Space being TBD doesn’t really make sense. Unless they re doing something extensive with the Q.

EDIT: unless of course they plan on it being HyperSpace Mountain for a couple years as an overflow for SWL with Star Tours. If that’s the case, then a lengthier refurb might make sense. Honestly, even without the Star Wars overlay it would make sense if it hasn’t gotten a nice refurb in a while.

That would be interesting, but moving an attraction would absolutely be announced. Though if the gaze of Project Stardust doesn't fall on those rocks...

Tomorrowland is such a mess though, they may be waiting for a full makeover.

Very interesting. Excellent marketing for a project that has mostly consisted of removing planters and seating- changes that hurt the visual appeal and guest experience on days that arent unusually busy.

Wanna utilize space better? Turn the carousel theater into something that actually gets people off the street.

Shorten (don't remove) the autopia to free up space in the motor boat cruise area, and add a new ride or two. Reroute the monorail if needed.

Lower the amount of Fastpasses provided to get more guests in line vs walkways. I love Fastpasses, but Disney's infrastructure wasn't designed to handle guests waiting in a line while waiting virtually for another.

Turn Pooh into a ride people actually want to experience to get more people in Critter Country.

Add shows people want to see to the Magic Eye Theater and Fantasyland theater- those high capacity theaters can get people off of the walkways.

Have more frequent performances at the Tomorrowland Terrace to Jeep that venue full.

Run the canoes for more than a few hours a day.

Beef up the Disney Gallery to have exhibits park fans actually want to see, to help encourage visitation.

And better yet? Build more quality attractions in DCA to further encourage guests voluntarily visit for longer each day + actually offer night entertainment there.

Those changes all seem a bit too “sweeping” for Disney’s taste.

Usually I’d agree but for something like a spinner (not named Dumbo) I can see them doing it. They never announced that the Muppets we’re leaving. ITTBAB also quietly went away with a Parks blog explaining why afterwards.

With that dope $hapek in charge I wouldn't doubt it. But now that I think about it, the star tunnel (although fixed now) was off for awhile. The vehicle wheels squeal, and with that "permanent" barrier at the dome entrance, I think you have a point in that they'll use this time to refurbish the queue.

Perhaps it's time a new version of the "Bruh club" gets revived (that I was unfortunately never a part of), but in a new incarnation- the PhantasmickElite or something.

Only requirement for entry? The shill has to mention you on Twitter.
I can't help myself; I demand membership.

Lest we forget, it all began here, on March 3, 2018:

I have just made an incredible discovery. Did you guys know there is someone on Twitter who is so obsessed with some of our users on here that he screenshots posts and tweets about them constantly? This thread is a recent point of interest, and @TROR and @Kira Nerys are recurring characters. At first, judging by the username, I thought it was a sarcastic account. But it appears to be in earnest.

EDIT: Well, I thought it was fun for a couple minutes, but after a lot of scrolling it’s just pathetic. Ugh, sorry everyone.

LMAO @ the lazy Twitter weirdo. I too am looking forward to the next posts. Nice discover, @180º !

Let us create a nickname for them. Anyone have any ideas?

And that's all I will say about that matter. As for Project Stardust, my two pet maintenance gripes are Mansion and Space Mountain. I think Mansion has been forgotten yet again, but I want to believe Space Mountain will get a nice refurbishment. I posted a wish list for HM fixes in another thread, and I have a list for Space Mountain as well. Off the top of my head:

- Revert outside com chatter to the version without the safety video audio playing in between (should be do-able now that Fastpass merge has moved inside)
- turn on Christmas light stars in load area windows
- return first lift and strobe tunnel sound effects that have been muted since 2006
- fix the strobe tunnel and reprogram it back to its original, strobe-ier sequence
- replace and recalibrate 2nd lift projections. They're embarassingly bendy lately
- Turn up the brightness of the starfields, which I believe has dimmed over the years either deliberately or from neglect
- Give the asteroid a blacklight paint job and light it up finally
- Port over a few HKDL projections
- Re-surface or clad the entire exterior dome. Power washing and fresh paint have not done the trick.
- OR re-build the dome entirely to solve the grime problem and the ADA issues, and leave out the second tier that was built in 2013/14.

Typically I am not in favor of overlays, but honestly I wouldn't be against Hyperspace Mountain returning for a couple years until GE hype dies down a bit. I definitely feel bad for the people (especially kids) that are going to plan entire trips around seeing GE and will miss it due to it hitting capacity, so it makes sense that they have a consolation prize available elsewhere in the park. By 2021 or 2022 all Star Wars references outside of Galaxy's Edge should be permanently removed.

Yeah it wouldn’t really bother me either. It will help with the Star Wars demand but in all honesty probably not all that much. It helps when you know the original is coming back at some point.

Oh how I wish GOTG:MB was an overlay.

It is an overlay. Get rid of the junk on the facade, the Planet Hollywood props and you basically have Tower of Terror again.
