Speaking of special events, who do I have to kill to get them to stop pulling out the carnival games and obnoxious merchandise stalls during HHN? They crowd the street and ruin the mood.

While I agree, management doesn't. They seem to have a good relationship with armed Garda personnel carrying away thousands of dollars of straight cash each and every day from these.

Does it suck or is it ok?
I went in 2006 and don't recall seeing it.... I loved the fact that even the streets were scare zones that was one of the coolest parts the streets were really eerrie (sp)

They have had games at HHN for many years but it started up front in 2004 when they used the dual park format. The games were intertwined with the midway of the bizarre scare zone, which also was the location they held the floats for the festival of the dead parade.

As a HUGE fan of The Simpsons I am psyched about them adding on to Springfield. When I went to first experience TSR in 2010 it felt out of place. Maybe it was because I was used to seeing BttF there but I think they are going to make a small fortune on Krusty Burgers & Duff! Can't wait to eat there! Is this something that will be open rather quickly?

What is this assumption I'm reading lately that there may be some sort of 2nd Simpsons ride involved with this? I've read that new permits filed mentioned a queue. Granted it could be work on the current queue (more than likely) but it seems to involve new construction on new buildings, not the current building. The permits also mention restaurant and bar.

I'm thinking the mention of que is really only to get the amount of space between the current Simpsons queue and the new restaurant, which is looking like Moe Tavern since the word bar is used too.

While it only really comes up here in the US when discussing rides, a queue is just a waiting line. Most quick service food locations (at a theme park or not) have a queue. Any place designed to hold a line would be the queue as it relates to these permits. It does not matter if you are waiting to board a ride vehicle or if you are waiting for the next available register or to get to the food in a cafeteria line.

You know, yea, I did think about that, but didn't know if they would use the word queue on a permit if it just meant a waiting line in a QS restaurant, but I guess they would...

Is it a big queue for a big marquee ride? Or is it a small queue for a little c-ticket?

In terms of what the city is concerned about (public safety) I do not see why the final destination would be of concern. What term would be used for non-rides? "Line?" Then why not use "line" for rides as well?

Here is the comment from the permit regarding the queue:

The total width of means of egress in inches shall not be less than the total occupant load served by the means of egress. FBC 1005.1, 2010 (Identify width between que rails for ride and restaurant.)

After reading it again, this is not for the queue lines inside the restaurant... This is for a ride for sure... But, I am thinking that it is the width between the Simpsons queue rails and Moe's Tavern (if Moe's is what will be added)...

'waiting area' ?

'queue' has no singularity to amusements - that's probably just where most fans first encountered the word. People 'queue' at the airport, and everywhere else too :)

That's what I said in my earlier post and does not indicate why a city would follow American theme park fans in their terminology.

Now that I see the quote, I agree this is about the queue rails for The Simpsons Ride. It seems the City is asking for how wide the space shall be to ensure that there is an adequate means of egress from the restaurant.

The International Food & Film Festival building is now closed. Construction walls now line the right side of The Simpsons Ride's queue for what is presumably a queue extension to make up for the area lost because of the new midway games. Additionally, a mystery project is happening on the waterfront area facing both The Simpsons Ride and IFFF. Walls line the perimeter of that section of the waterfront.

BJCool, welcome.... Glad to see you posting OU's pictures with their watermark since some people like to steal pictures from there and call them their own...
