New Belle has been out at DLR for almost a week. There are a bunch of pictures if her on the Disneyland Board on this site it's the same costume and wig.

The make up looks more natural in the updated update... at least there's that.

Belle's new dress doesn't even look modern. To me it looks like a tasteful, less-cartoony, live action interpretation of what her dress would look like. Before New Fantasyland opened I had wondered if they would swap the canary yellow for a rich gold. I remembered years ago when my sister was a kid and had her own version of the dress. It wasn't yellow but gold and seemed much more realistic to me.

Also I'm pretty sure most of these pictures are not new. They have just added glitter and some blush to them and added hair and neckline detail. Upon researching the matter I have come up with this:

Which would suggest these images are not as new as you would think :confused: Just touched up and improved traces.

Sounds like I am in the minority here, but I like every single updated image better than the traditional look.

I don't mind the live Belle look (although the hair looks like she's had a few extensions put in-pageant hair?)
The dress is fantastic. IHATE the new drawings, and cindy's hair is awful.
They all look like they've had plastic surgery.
The big tell is that my kids are upset. No princess stuff for us this year.

I was so worried about the new Belle look because the illustrations looked so bad. What she has now is so much more detailed and gorgeous, all those layers of different fabric and the tiny sleeve addition is just awesome. Her old dress seemed almost too costume-y and tacky, and honestly I love the muted golds more than that bright yellow! Yes I prefer the merchandise to have the original art but this dress is a definite winner for me!

I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but is it only human Ariel that is getting a new look or is mermaid Ariel getting a new costume as well? Also, since in WDW she meets as a mermaid I guess with the new human costume she will be a staple a CRT and Akershus? I don't recall her meeting as a human anywhere else and why would they make a costume that willl not be used...

She's human in the parade at MK as well. I don't know if mermaid Ariel will be getting a new costume maybe just the wig.

Mermaid Ariel's hair may change, but the costume won't. The redesign for Ariel is with legs. At WDW, that means she'll only have the new look at Akershus.
